00:00And it starts bright and early 1pm pacific time out in downtown Los Angeles between the
00:10Dodgers and the Mets.
00:11It is game number two of the NLCS.
00:14The Dodgers dominate in game number one, nine zip.
00:18They have not allowed a run.
00:20The Dodgers since the middle of game number three in the NLDS against San Diego, they
00:25blank the Padres in the final four frames.
00:29They blank the Padres in both game four and game five and the Mets last night in the opening
00:36game of the LCS 33 consecutive scoreless innings.
00:41The Dodgers holding their opposition to zip and zilch.
00:46It matches an MLB playoff record dating back to 1966.
00:52We're not exactly sure who will try to continue that streak today for the Dodgers at least
00:58to open in game two on the other side.
01:02It's Sean Mania for the Mets.
01:04The Dodgers greater than a dollar and 40 cent favorite minus 142 on the money line.
01:10The total for game two is eight and a half DRS.
01:14How do you see game two playing out at the ravine?
01:17The handicaps are tough as we get into the playoffs and it wouldn't be as tough here
01:21if I knew the starting pitcher on both teams that they anticipate going five to six innings.
01:24You can handicap off of that and take your way.
01:27Look at the batters and say, I'm going to get at least three at bats against the said
01:30pitcher unless he really gets roughed up early in the game.
01:33But if you're looking at the line itself, that plus one 20 in the Mets, that's the line
01:36I probably dig into.
01:37Donnie, how could you do that?
01:38The Dodgers have to give up any runs in three years.
01:41It feels like at this point and the Mets just got run out nine to nothing yesterday.
01:45Understandably, the Mets had a whirlwind, unbelievable victory just to get into the
01:49playoffs, beat the Philadelphia Phillies.
01:50A lot of celebration out on the West Coast, caught a pitcher that absolutely dominated
01:54them.
01:55And the way you move forward, the good thing about baseball where they could beat one to
01:57nothing or nine to nothing.
01:59You're still down.
02:00Oh, one doesn't make any difference.
02:01Not down three games because you lost by nine runs.
02:03You do have a quality lineup, which Lindor, Vientos, Nimmo and Alonzo as a first one through
02:08four.
02:09Very, very good.
02:10Here's the issue, though.
02:11Brazier is listed as the starting pitcher.
02:13Brazier usually goes one inning, maybe gets into the second inning before they pull you
02:17for a better matchup.
02:18So it's hard for me to come on and say, oh, I really like Lindor in this matchup.
02:21He crushes right handed pitching.
02:23Same thing with Vientos, Nimmo and Alonzo, all very good power numbers and weighted on
02:27base percentages over the past month against right handed pitching.
02:29But for my money here, do you think that the Mets can win this ballgame?
02:33I actually do.
02:35But do I want to take the plus 120 against that hot Dodgers team?
02:38Not necessarily.
02:39So if I'm saying and the way I started it out, the New York Mets have to get on the
02:44board early in this game.
02:46No doubt about it.
02:47Third inning, fourth inning, fifth inning, they haven't scored yet.
02:49That's just going to be an avalanche that's going to pile on and they might not even make
02:52it to game number five at that point and might get swept.
02:55Contrarian play.
02:56Mets team total over three and a half here at the FanDuel Sports Bowl.
03:00This is a book.
03:01I understand how good the Dodgers bullpen has been.
03:04It's still a bullpen here.
03:05It's not Sandy Koufax on the mound for eight innings and then, you know, Kenley Jansen
03:08and his prime coming into the ninth inning, right?
03:11You should be able to hit in nine at bats against a bullpen here.
03:14I'm not calling for a Mets victory, but this needs to be their best chance.
03:17Minaya is on the mound.
03:19He's been solid.
03:20He's a left handed pitcher.
03:21He's a quirky lefty, which could throw off your lineup here.
03:23The Mets absolutely have to win this game, but if they do, I don't know if it's a two
03:27to one effort here.
03:28I think the Mets have to score early and often to get a cushion here to quiet that Dodger
03:33crowd and we shouldn't have any shadows creeping into much later in the game, which means we
03:37might not even see them by 430 p.m.
03:40I expect a good effort out of the Mets.
03:41Give me the team total Mets over three and a half as a contrarian play today.
