00:00It was good and expected that the two ASEAN Business and Investment Summits in Laos PDR

00:06of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. will bear fruit.

00:09This is what GoNegosyo founder Joey Concepcion said,

00:12who is also with the President, who attended the said activity.

00:16According to Concepcion, it further strengthened the relationship of the government and private sector,

00:21particularly in the ASEAN Food Security Alliance,

00:24including Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, and others from the ASEAN region.

00:30Concepcion explained,

00:32through the alliance with other countries,

00:36the Philippine agricultural sector will be more affected,

00:40especially when it comes to strengthening food security.

00:45Concepcion added,

00:47the summit also discussed the cooperation of big agri-companies overseas

00:52that use land owned by the government,

00:56together with local agri-companies,

00:58for the expansion of the agricultural sector,

01:01where it is expected to also help beneficiaries of agrarian reform in the country,

01:07including cooperatives and local farmers.

01:10Meanwhile, the target to start a joint venture and partnership in 2025

01:16Concepcion hopes that under the leadership of the Philippines in 2026,

01:20the full implementation of the so-called alliance with ASEAN will be implemented.

01:27We have the best opportunity because if we don't scale up our small farmers,

01:33we will never eradicate poverty in the agricultural sector.

01:39So we have to give them growth,

01:44we have to make them succeed,

01:46and we will have a more vibrant economy.

01:49We have so many farmers,

01:51so imagine if we increase the income that they generate,

01:55the country will gain out of that,

01:58there will be greater prosperity.
