00:00Hello, I'm going to give you a quick tour of the Car Wow Honda Civic Type R Long Termer.
00:06Now we had quite a bit of a debate in the office about what colour to go for. Some people
00:10wanted it white so it looked a bit JDM. I wouldn't mind a red one, I had a red one before
00:15when I was working at Auto Express. But in the end we went for the grey because that
00:19was the colour that our camera team said would be better to film. And you know what? Really
00:25happy with the colour. I think it works very, very well. What do you reckon? Let me know
00:31in the comments box below. So I'll just give you a quick walk around. I'm sure you've all
00:35seen the Civic Type R before. Very aggressive looking car. It's not for the shy and retiring
00:42types really, is it? It's in your face. But I like that about it. You know, a Golf R will
00:48play things subtly. Ford Focus RS is kind of neither here nor there. It is a little
00:53bit boy racery but it doesn't go far enough. Whereas this is completely unapologetic. It's
00:57like, screw you! I'm a fast car. The thing I really like about this Type R though is
01:04the interior. Compared to its rivals, it's just got so much more, I don't know what to
01:10say, style. It's got loads more balls, let's say, with all the red kind of contrasting
01:16the red here on the steering wheel. These wonderful seats. They're lovely, lovely to
01:21sit in. I love these Type R seats. And you've got the red stitching here. It just works.
01:28This interior feels noticeably more special than a standard Civic. And I like the seating
01:35position. I'll try and give you a look at it. I like it. It feels very sporty, futuristic.
01:39It works. It's all really nice. And one of the things I really like is that you get shift
01:44lights up here to change gear which is really helpful when you're doing those everyday things
01:49that you do as a motorist like drag racing. But yeah, lovely car. Lovely. I'll show you
01:57the back seats. It's obviously a four-door but it doesn't look like a four-door because
02:00of the body design. So there, look, back seats. That's boring. It's not way by a Type R but
02:07you can use it kind of as a family car if you want. That little beep means I've left
02:11the ignition on so I'll just go and turn this off. There we go. Right, really nice. We have
02:18– well, oh crap, I don't know what's going on now. It's still beeping at me. We have
02:24had a slight incident. So someone was driving on the wrong side of the road towards one
02:29of our guys and, well, he had to kind of swerve out of the way and he ended up curbing the
02:33wheel. These wheels really just stand out at the kerb and I got caught out by a width
02:37restrictor. Look at that. It's not great. So I'm probably going to get a black marker
02:41pen to colour that in. Pretending it's not really there. Sorry, Honda. But so far, absolutely
02:47loving this car. We had it on track the other week and it really performed. The front end
02:52grip is incredible. That diff on the front just – you feel it like clawing at the tarmac.
02:57It's awesome. There are a couple of things that are a bit naff on it like these vents.
03:01I mean, I don't know what the heck they do. Honda claim that they actually let air out
03:04from under the wheel arch but I'm not so sure because the holes that are there, they're
03:10just so tiny. I'm not entirely sure that they do anything at all. But there we go. I mean,
03:15I'm not taking you for a spin in it. I will do another time. This is just the first update.
03:19Quick look round this Honda Civic Type R. Like I said, so far everyone in the office
03:25is loving it.
