00:00with great pressure comes great responsibility in the Yankees
00:09answer the call in game number one of the American League
00:12Championship Series last night in the Bronx inside Yankee
00:16Stadium against the Cleveland Guardians five to the victory
00:20jack for the pinstripes in game number one of the ALCS Carlos
00:24Rodon sensational Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton continue to
00:29deliver heck even Aaron Judge and RBI sack fly last night in
00:34game number one. What impressed you the most out of the
00:37pinstripes performance in the opening game of the ALCS? It
00:42was the lefty that you're seeing on the screen right now,
00:44man. I as simple as that. I love the Soto Homer. The Stanton
00:47Homer is great and playoff Stanton is a thing. You look at
00:49his OPS over the course of his postseason career. It's over a
00:53thousand. This guy I think has a 1009 OPS. He has been amazing
00:57but it is the lefty Carlos Rodon. The way that I put it on
01:01today's show uh was this was a put up or shut up start for
01:06Carlos Rodon after bouncing around on the hill in the first
01:09inning of his start in the ALTS against Kansas City and then
01:12getting racked after that and guess what? Like he put up. You
01:16can put up. That's one of the options in a put up or shut up
01:19game and he totally did that. He was cool. He was calm. He was
01:25collected. He got that first punch out. He was racking up
01:28whips and he wasn't sticking his tongue out. He wasn't
01:30bouncing around. He wasn't, you know, cracking a smile to every
01:32infielder. He said, you know what? Like, I got burned last
01:35week. Let's not do that again and the fact that he piled up
01:39twenty-five swings and misses yesterday. I've got the list.
01:44Like, it was tied for I think the fourth most swings and
01:48misses in a postseason start since they started tracking
01:51that. That is the pitch tracking era. Yeah. Garrett Cole,
01:54the Houston Astro, thirty-three swings and misses
01:57in the twenty-nineteen ALDS. Tim Lincecum got thirty-one in
02:01twenty-ten and Zach Wheeler had thirty last week and game one
02:05of the NLDS but like Rodan just entered that elite a company
02:09where nobody was touching him and it was with city. It was
02:14domination from him and that was so important and the moment
02:17that you start to feel the heat, the Yankees are turning
02:20to their new closer, man. They've got a guy. Clay Holmes
02:24had some volatility there but all of a sudden, Luke Weaver
02:27might be the Yankee closer which is crazy because he was
02:30cast aside by Arizona. He's cast aside by Cincinnati and by
02:34Seattle in twenty twenty-two and I I mean they they found
02:39something here that's that's abundantly clear.
