00:00After being exposed to pageantry alongside my business, I thought what's a better platform to get into
00:07to actually help people and make a significant change.
00:14I guess before it was all about beauty, but now you got to be a queen too, because being a queen means you have to be
00:21or you have to walk with grace, you have to walk with integrity, truth, a good heart.
00:27And I'm glad that it has evolved because beauty queens are more than just a pretty face.
00:30Again, you have to bring something into the table and people forget that when you join a beauty pageant,
00:37it's a job interview. Are you fit for the job? Do you have what it takes?
00:41And can you give us something that we can use to our advantage on the org's perspective?
00:48And of course, it's all about the change you can make.
00:51These are girls, but they're all kind of interconnected.
00:54What I found most helpful is during my run in Binibini or even Miss Grand,
01:00I was able to pull my business network connections in order to help also with my certain advocacies.
01:06And I think it's the same for public service. I can use my business connections like our partners,
01:11Radisson Hotel, they are donating to the Class Foundation in order for us to help build those classrooms.
01:17So again, I'm really a firm believer that if you have a strong community who actually
01:22want to help out each other, then you can really achieve great things.
01:25I think my eyes were opened when I joined beauty pageants because there,
01:29you have to have an active voice. Wala akong choice, right?
01:32But it's great that in my high school, I studied in Las Pinas before, in Southville.
01:37And so in Southville, you know, they required us to have CAS, so it was a creative act of service.
01:44So at a young age, I was very much exposed to it.
01:46My father also, he would help out the community center nate.
01:50Even Boracay, we just donated, we demolished the whole resort,
01:54so we donated our own items to the fire victims.
01:57So I guess I was always growing up knowing that I had to give back to the community
02:01some way or another.
02:03And after being exposed to pageantry alongside my business,
02:07I thought, what better platform to get into
02:11to actually help people and make a significant change.
02:14Yes, of course, I'm all about legacy and I'm all about sustaining that legacy.
02:18I actually joined Binibining Pilipinas again because of legacy,
02:23but my dad allowed me to explore different facets of myself.
02:27Hence why I joined beauty pageants.
02:29Kasi syempre, I was always destined to come back
02:32from the U.S. after my four years there for college
02:36to help with the family business.
02:37But then I said, dad, wait lang ha.
02:39Gusto ko pang umara.
02:42But I also wanted to discover more of myself
02:44and also, of course, make a name for myself.
02:46I don't want to be reliant on just the last name, right?
02:50I mean, it's all about making your own mark now,
02:52especially with my generation.
02:55It's a competitive market no matter where you go to.
02:58So how was the journey so far?
03:00How's the journey so far?
03:02Dito, my bags.
03:04We're still surviving, love and all.
