00:00I can sort of appreciate the sort of bold decision to move in a different direction
00:05because other managers have done it in the past and it hasn't worked. Bruno Large tried to do it,
00:09clearly didn't work for him. I use this phrase a lot but I do feel that it's an accurate one.
00:16It almost feels like it's part of all this DNA to be a back five since they've returned to the
00:21Premier League all those years ago under Nuno. Four managers now, including Gary Neal, have
00:26tried and failed to move to a back four and it looks like, as we say, that Gary Neal is going
00:32to move back to that five. Does he regret it? I don't think he will regret the fact that he's
00:37tried and given it a go. Hindsight is always going to be 20-20 but you do look at the failure to
00:43bring a centre back in in the summer, letting Hugo Bueno go on loan. A couple of the decisions they
00:49made in the transfer window that haven't really set themselves up to play a four and now they're
00:56having to play a five with an even weaker centre back, Paul, to choose from, especially with
01:06Jos Musquera injured. So you now have to move back to a five with an extra centre back,
01:11with only three fit senior centre backs in this team in the first place. Players like,
01:15I spoke on the podcast before, Matt Doherty could come in and play on the right of a three.
01:19A few of the players, Marilu Mina could fill in there and he did the other week as well.
01:26So they have options to get themselves through but they're going to have to address that in
01:30January as well. I think Gary Neal will regret the, not the move itself, but will regret the
01:38way the transfer window ended, which is not always going to be within, or maybe at all,
01:42within his power to change that.
