00:00I think Pete Wilde would be many people's favorite, but I don't think that's realistic.
00:05He's been linked with a pool's job in the past.
00:08I don't think he's particularly keen to relocate, and I don't think he's especially keen either to drop back down to the National League.
00:14Obviously did a fantastic job with Barrow, took over with them having finished 22nd in the National League the season before,
00:22led them to a ninth-place finish before winning the National League title, and turned Barrow into a side challenging for promotion from League Two.
00:31So I think he'll feel that his stock is a little bit higher than Hartlepool United.
00:36I've got five names in front of me here.
00:39Paul Simpson, I think, would be a good shout.
00:43Obviously, plenty of experience, done a really good job at Carlisle.
00:46OK, it didn't end particularly well that they were relegated from League One and he was sacked,
00:53but it's worth bearing in mind that he took over with Carlisle, staring down the battle of relegation to the National League, kept them up and then won promotion.
01:01So he's obviously a manager that has something to offer and would give you that experience.
01:10Tommy Widdrington, obviously, a former Pools player, has done a good job at Aldershot, struggling a little bit more this season,
01:17but does have a reputation for playing fast, free-flowing, attacking football.
01:22And given his connections to Hartlepool United, one promotion with Pools as a player might be a popular choice in that sense.
01:29The thing with Pools, Rich, is you never quite know what kind of manager that they're looking for.
01:34Are they going to look for an English manager, a Scottish manager, someone with lots of experience, no experience?
01:40Because the appointments in recent years have been pretty slapdash.
01:45So they might go for someone like Jonathan Greening, who doesn't have a host of experience, but had an impressive playing career, done a good job at Scarborough.
01:53Graham Murthy is, I know, someone that we've discussed again, not a whole host of managerial experience,
02:00but I think a lot to like about him and what he's done as a player and a coach.
