00:08:51So we try and do the same.
00:08:53Sit cross-legged, eyes closed, and become thoughtless.
00:08:59When we try and become thoughtless,
00:09:02we are not able to do it.
00:09:04And because we are not able to do it,
00:09:06we say meditation is very difficult.
00:09:09Meditation is not about becoming thoughtless.
00:09:12Meditation is about analyzing the mind in the right direction.
00:09:17The meditation is called Raja Yoga.
00:09:21Raja Yoga, two words.
00:09:25The word yoga means connection, communion.
00:09:31Connection between two energies.
00:09:34And the word Raja means two things.
00:09:38The highest connection.
00:09:41And second, becoming a master, a ruler.
00:09:45So a ruler in Hindi is called Raja.
00:09:49Raja.
00:09:51We are becoming a ruler over?
00:09:54We are becoming a ruler over?
00:09:58Who are we becoming a ruler over?
00:10:01Our own self, our own mind and intellect.
00:10:06So Raja Yoga, two words.
00:10:09Self-rule and highest connection
00:10:13because connection with the supreme power.
00:10:17Sister Shilu shared with us
00:10:22the understanding of I am a soul.
00:10:27What does the soul do throughout the day?
00:10:30Three words.
00:10:32So soul has three faculties
00:10:35and we are going to use all these three faculties in the meditation.
00:10:39First faculty, thinking of the mind.
00:10:45So some people would say,
00:10:47how do I believe I am a soul?
00:10:50I don't see it, nobody can show it to us.
00:10:53So if we go to a doctor,
00:10:56if he has to show us the brain,
00:10:58they can show us the brain.
00:11:00But if we ask them to show us the mind,
00:11:05can a doctor show us the mind?
00:11:07No.
00:11:08Do we need proof that we have a mind?
00:11:15Why do we not need proof that we have a mind?
00:11:19Why don't we need proof?
00:11:21We've never seen it.
00:11:22Why don't we need proof that we have a mind?
00:11:25Because we are experiencing it all the time.
00:11:28Because we are experiencing the body.
00:11:31The doctor can show us every organ of the body.
00:11:34The doctor can show us the brain also.
00:11:37But the doctor can't show us the energy which operates this body.
00:11:44The energy operates this body.
00:11:47So if you give it a name,
00:11:50it is a robot.
00:11:54So this body is that robot,
00:11:56controlled by a computer.
00:11:59The brain is the computer.
00:12:01But can the computer do anything by itself?
00:12:04No.
00:12:05The computer needs an operator.
00:12:07That operator is I.
00:12:11So I soon will give an instruction,
00:12:15even a simple instruction.
00:12:17I want to have a glass of water.
00:12:20So who wants to have a glass of water?
00:12:23I want to have a glass of water.
00:12:25I will give this thought.
00:12:27This thought will go to the brain.
00:12:29The brain will process that instruction.
00:12:32You have a bowl like this and you have a cup like that.
00:12:35So this is the robot.
00:12:37The brain is the computer.
00:12:39I am the operator of that computer.
00:12:43So it is I who decide how this robot is going to get used.
00:12:48So I, the being, have three abilities.
00:12:52First, I create thoughts.
00:12:55Do we need proof I create thoughts?
00:12:58No.
00:12:59We are experiencing it throughout the day.
00:13:01When I, the energy, create thoughts,
00:13:04it is called mind.
00:13:08We can create pure thoughts.
00:13:11We can create powerful thoughts.
00:13:14Sometimes we create weak thoughts.
00:13:18Sometimes we create negative thoughts.
00:13:21Sometimes we create waste thoughts.
00:13:24Nothing is going to happen.
00:13:26We are just thinking and thinking and thinking.
00:13:28But all these thoughts are created by I, the soul.
00:13:32At that time it is called the mind.
00:13:35Once I, the soul, create the thoughts,
00:13:38the intellect, which is also the soul,
00:13:42evaluates the thoughts, makes a decision,
00:13:46called intellect.
00:13:49Do we need proof that we have intellect?
00:13:51No.
00:13:52We are using it throughout the day.
00:13:54The intellect does two things.
00:13:57It discerns, makes a decision.
00:14:00One function of the intellect.
00:14:02Second function of the intellect is to visualize,
00:14:05which we are going to use in the meditation.
00:14:08Visualize.
00:14:09Create a thought right now.
00:14:11Home.
00:14:12Create a thought right now.
00:14:15And the picture will appear.
00:14:19So the mind said home.
00:14:21The intellect saw the picture of home.
00:14:25So the mind will create a thought.
00:14:27The intellect will create a visual of the thought.
00:14:31And what is the third ability?
00:14:33In Hindi it is called sanskar.
00:14:36Sanskar means nature.
00:14:39Nostality.
00:14:40Habit.
00:14:41But emotional habit.
00:14:43Not outer habits of being sleepy.
00:14:47Not those habits.
00:14:48Habits of personality.
00:14:51All those words that we put on the left hand and the right hand in the morning
00:14:55are sanskars.
00:14:56They are devotional habits.
00:14:58Habits means I live out of those habits.
00:15:01If I have a habit of stress, I will live out of that habit of stress.
00:15:05I don't consciously create feelings.
00:15:07Habits on its own.
00:15:09I don't consciously create anger.
00:15:11I said, oh, it just happened.
00:15:13Because it has become my habit.
00:15:15And when I experience it,
00:15:17that stuff will create my visual of it.
00:15:20And my mind will create a thought.
00:15:22And when I experience it,
00:15:24it becomes my nature.
00:15:26So I have so much to do in the meditation.
00:15:28So there is no more room to talk.
00:15:30There is no place to talk.
00:15:32It's gone so far.
00:15:34So I have so much to do in the meditation.
00:15:37So there is no more room to talk.

00:15:43So I have so much to do in the meditation.
00:15:46So my mind supports intellect.
00:15:49Visualizing what I think.
00:15:52And what I visualize,
00:15:54I get into that experience.
00:15:57And that experience starts becoming my personality.
00:16:01For example,
00:16:03suppose you had a conflict with someone.
00:16:07Now read the person's name.
00:16:10That is your thought.
00:16:12That is the face of your person.
00:16:15That will be the intellect which receives the visual.
00:16:19Start thinking about what happened that day.
00:16:22And you will start experiencing the same pain right now.
00:16:26You can even have a tear in your eye.
00:16:28Is that possible or not possible?
00:16:30Yes, possible.
00:16:32The person is not here.
00:16:34The conflict is not going on here.
00:16:36All three powers of the soul will work.
00:16:38Your thought,
00:16:40the face of the person,
00:16:42and the experience of the emotional pain that happened that day,
00:16:46even if it was many years ago.
00:16:48And when you do that,
00:16:50in those few minutes,
00:16:52you are meditating with that person.
00:16:55Which means you are in yoga with that person.
00:16:58You are in communion and connection with that soul.
00:17:02So whenever we think of someone,
00:17:05our mind and intellect is completely engaged with that person.
00:17:10We will say that at that time we are yoga with that soul.
00:17:14So throughout the day we are yoga with many souls.
00:17:18We are meditating with people.
00:17:20We are meditating with places.
00:17:22You can think of the place right now.
00:17:25You had a thought.
00:17:27Have it ready there.
00:17:28The image of the thought will show up.
00:17:30And you see yourself sitting on the seashore.
00:17:32And if you start to see yourself in a few seconds or one or two minutes,
00:17:37you will start experiencing the water touching your feet.
00:17:40You will start feeling it.
00:17:42You will start feeling the breeze.
00:17:44And even though there is nothing there right now with you,
00:17:47all the three powers will work around your head.
00:17:50And in those few minutes,
00:17:52we are meditating with that person.
00:17:54So it is all done by the soul.
00:17:58So through meditation,
00:18:00we are going to use all the three powers of the soul.
00:18:04Let's do a little exercise.
00:18:06Let's sit straight.
00:18:09Another very important thing to take care is
00:18:13we have seen pictures of meditation and always with eyes closed.
00:18:18Right?
00:18:19With eyes closed.
00:18:21And here you will see all the brothers and sisters.
00:18:24Keep your eyes open.
00:18:27If you have to think of someone right now,
00:18:30do you need to close your eyes or you can do it with your eyes open?
00:18:36Think of anyone.
00:18:38Do you need to do like this?
00:18:40Or you can do it with your eyes open?
00:18:43It's so simple.
00:18:45It's simple.
00:18:47Experience says when we keep our eyes closed,
00:18:51too many thoughts.
00:18:54Concentration is lower when we keep our eyes closed.
00:18:58And mind centers here and there.
00:19:00Eyes open is high concentration, focus and alertness.
00:19:05Another thing that happens is
00:19:07because many of us are sleepy in life,
00:19:11so when we gently close our eyes, what happens?
00:19:15Sweet sleep.
00:19:17Now we sometimes people come to the center
00:19:20who are having problems with sleeping.
00:19:23And we haven't been able to sleep well.
00:19:26We can't even listen or sleeping.
00:19:28So we say, okay, now on meditation,
00:19:31the first person sitting there in silence
00:19:33or using the red light
00:19:35in front of the microscope,
00:19:37they will wake up after 15-20 minutes
00:19:40in very powerful meditation, that is.
00:19:44Because meditation and sleep input
00:19:47the mind is going to start slowing down.
00:19:50And for us, slowing down the mind
00:19:53equals to sleep.
00:19:55If I close my eyes also with that,
00:19:57then eyes closed and slowing down the mind.
00:20:00Go to sleep.
00:20:02But we are taking the time not to sleep.
00:20:05We are taking out that time to meditate.
00:20:08So gentle practice.
00:20:10Don't be very harsh on yourself.
00:20:12You can keep it half open.
00:20:14You can just focus on any one point.
00:20:17Anywhere you want to be.
00:20:19The third reason why we put our eyes open
00:20:21because we are not always going to be sitting in one place
00:20:24and doing it.
00:20:27It's a meditative lifestyle.
00:20:30Connecting to myself,
00:20:32connecting to the highest power.
00:20:35It's something I can do while driving,
00:20:38while working, while cooking.
00:20:41I don't always have to take out time
00:20:43to sit like that.
00:20:44Because how much time can I take out
00:20:45by just sitting there?
00:20:47So it's a meditative lifestyle.
00:20:50So that's the third reason.
00:20:51Why we need to keep our eyes open.
00:20:54And the fourth reason is
00:20:56the vibrations that we create
00:20:58radiate through our eyes
00:21:00all around the world.
00:21:01So keep your eyes, even if it's half open.
00:21:04Initially, if you find it
00:21:07and you want to find it,
00:21:09you can close your eyes.
00:21:10Gentle.
00:21:11Nothing forced.
00:21:13Nothing too high with yourself.
00:21:15Kind of practice.
00:21:17After a few days, it becomes easy.
00:21:20So we do a little bit of exercise right now.
00:21:23We will do a little meditation.
00:21:26We are going to go home.
00:21:28Home means the place where you came from,
00:21:30where is that?
00:21:32That home.
00:21:33Your country, your city, your hometown.
00:21:36We are going to see
00:21:39the two powers that are used in Raja Yoga
00:21:42is the power of affirmation
00:21:44and the power of visualization.
00:21:47Create a note like we've been doing since yesterday.
00:21:50I am a peaceful soul.
00:21:53This is an affirmation.
00:21:56We create a statement.
00:21:58We gently repeat the couple of sentences.
00:22:01I am a peaceful soul.
00:22:04This is an affirmation.
00:22:07Gently repeat it a couple of times.
00:22:10It starts coding into my subconscious.
00:22:12It's an affirmation.
00:22:14Second step is to practice.
00:22:16Create a thought.
00:22:17I am a peaceful soul.
00:22:19We start visualizing.
00:22:22Mind will visualize.
00:22:24If I don't visualize,
00:22:26the intellect will visualize something else.
00:22:29If I don't visualize something else,
00:22:31the mind will start creating something else.
00:22:34So you will say,
00:22:35I sat to meditate,
00:22:37but my mind went to work.
00:22:39So meditation means
00:22:41mind and intellect,
00:22:42thought power and visualization power
00:22:45should go hand in hand.
00:22:47So should we put the same exercise right now?
00:22:49Okay, so let's sit straight.
00:22:52Gently keep your eyes open.
00:22:55We are not meditating.
00:22:57We are just practicing
00:23:00how to use the power of thinking,
00:23:03visualization and experience.
00:23:07I will share a few thoughts.

00:23:11and you start visualizing that.
00:23:14I will not go anywhere else in between.

00:24:08Visualizing walking out of the hall
00:24:12and feeling that walk.
00:24:15Every step down the slope,
00:24:18down the steps.
00:24:24And now towards the main gate of the campus.

00:24:49and on the way to the airport.
00:25:01Be very clear which city are we taking the flight from.

00:26:09the flight, people around you.
00:26:19Feel the experience of being there.

00:27:19What's the color of the door?
00:27:27See the color of the door.
00:27:37Keep the eyes open.

00:32:36The mind was creating the thoughts.
00:32:39The intellect was seeing the visual.
00:32:43And then you could experience the taste of the orange.
00:32:47This is meditation.
00:32:50And this we were doing for about ten minutes.
00:32:53Eight, ten minutes.
00:32:56Any other thoughts we could use eight, ten minutes?
00:32:59Yes, that's what we were doing.
00:33:02So that's how simple meditation is, right?
00:33:05But it is simple when I'm using both the faculties together.
00:33:09And the more we do it, it's like any other practice.
00:33:12It's like bending down to touch the toes.
00:33:16But a week, ten days, and it becomes simpler.
00:33:19Another twenty days, it becomes easy.
00:33:22And then it becomes natural.
00:33:25Then it becomes natural.
00:33:28So now,
00:33:31now we will go to that one,

00:34:39how can we let this sense of yesterday,
00:34:42sitting straight, comfortable,
00:34:45bringing the attention to the center of the forehead,
00:34:49visualizing that point of light.
00:34:53So gently look at that visual,
00:34:55let it get recorded in your subconscious.
00:34:59And then we just, when we will tell ourselves,
00:35:01okay, I am a point of light,
00:35:03that visual I am, will become easy to get.
00:35:08So first visual is, by this way,
00:35:12in the center of the forehead,
00:35:15a little star, a little light,
00:35:20and a chain.
00:35:23Yes, everyone can see that?
00:35:25It's there on the screen, yes.
00:35:28So just keep looking at it,
00:35:30keep letting it get absorbed into your system.

00:35:39I am pure, I am a peaceful soul,
00:35:42I am creating vibrations,
00:35:44and those vibrations start traveling from me
00:35:48out into the world.
00:35:51So create, see the visual,
00:35:53just the energy, vibrations, waves,
00:35:55just traveling from me out into the room where I'm sitting,
00:36:00into my home, into my office,
00:36:03out into the world.
00:36:14Yes, can we see those circles of vibrations,
00:36:17the circle of vibration?
00:36:19Now, third visual,
00:36:21like we took the flight and we flew home,
00:36:24now, it's not the journey of the body,
00:36:27it's the journey of I, the soul.
00:36:31Now, I, the soul, will gently fly up,
00:36:36from above, to the sun, up,
00:36:41towards the world with my soul.
00:36:44Just as Shilu shared with us yesterday,
00:36:47my home,
00:36:49from where I, the soul, come into this world drama,
00:36:54take this costume to play my role.
00:36:59My home will also be the sun.
00:37:04So to see yourself, the visual,
00:37:06I, the soul, flying up the room.
00:37:12It's called the soul land.
00:37:25Next visual,
00:37:28meeting,
00:37:30meeting that one
00:37:33whom I always thought about,
00:37:36whom I always remembered,
00:37:39but out of gratitude,
00:37:42or sometimes in pain,
00:37:45sometimes seeking help,
00:37:48sometimes seeking forgiveness,
00:37:52that one.
00:37:54And I called my different names,
00:37:57but I knew who I was connecting to.
00:38:06That is the power,
00:38:09the ocean of purity.
00:38:12In the visual, it will look as if it's a bird's size,
00:38:17but God is not bigger in size,
00:38:21God is also energy,
00:38:25just another soul,
00:38:27supreme, not in size,
00:38:30supreme in power,
00:38:32supreme in quality.
00:38:37Can we see that?
00:38:39Everybody can.
00:38:42And the next visual we will see,
00:38:45like the sun's rays warm this body,
00:38:48and they energize this body,
00:38:51and similarly, energy vibration
00:38:54from God to me, the soul,
00:38:58from the ocean of power,
00:39:00from the ocean of peace,
00:39:02to me, the soul,
00:39:04like a laser beam,
00:39:06like a laser beam,
00:39:09like how would vibration travel from me to another soul,
00:39:13just from your energy to another soul,
00:39:16similarly, energy power
00:39:21from God to me.
00:39:25And when that power travels from God to me,
00:39:29it's like a battery which starts getting charged
00:39:32and connecting to a power house.
00:39:38All the visuals are done?
00:39:40All four of them?
00:39:42Okay, let's repeat it one more time.
00:39:47So we'll just see all four.
00:39:58One again, I the soul.
00:40:06Two, radiating the vibrations around me.
00:40:17Three, flying upwards to the home of the soul.
00:40:28Fourth, being with the divine power and feeling myself.
00:40:34Just hold on to that visual.
00:40:36In that visual now,
00:40:39but we will also use that image.
00:40:42If I want to give healing energy to another soul,
00:40:47then you will include that soul also there into the soul you are there.
00:40:53Fill yourself with power and radiate it to that soul.
00:40:58Fill yourself with power, radiate it to that soul.
00:41:02It's like take and give.
00:41:05Take and give.
00:41:07And also, one visual that's missing today,
00:41:10fill yourself with power and radiate to the whole world,
00:41:14which means radiate to the planet.
00:41:17Fill yourself with power, radiate to the planet.
00:41:22Fill yourself with power, radiate to all the souls who are in pain.
00:41:29Fill yourself with power, radiate to all those countries
00:41:34where there is war, there is strife, radiate peace and love there.
00:41:40Fill yourself with power, radiate it to everyone,
00:41:45radiate it to people who are diseased.
00:41:50So meditation is first, soul consciousness.
00:41:57Second, connecting power.
00:42:00And third, using God's power to energize myself.
00:42:06And fourth, very important,
00:42:08using God's power to heal people and to heal the world.
00:42:14In Hindi it is called Mansa Seva.
00:42:17Seva means give.
00:42:19Mansa means using the power of the mind
00:42:22using the power of the mind to give to the world.
00:42:28How many of us have this intention?
00:42:30We want to heal people.
00:42:32Every day there is so much pain.
00:42:37Now what happens is,
00:42:39when we are in a scene of pain,
00:42:42or if we are surrounded by somebody who is going through pain,
00:42:45what is the normal habit that we have?
00:42:48We think of what we are going through.
00:42:52And when we think of what we are going through,
00:42:55what do we start experiencing?
00:43:00We also start experiencing pain.
00:43:03Now, so again, here is a soul who is going through pain.
00:43:08I see them going through pain,
00:43:10or I read about them going through pain.
00:43:12Or in another part of the world,
00:43:14I read about them going through pain.
00:43:17I watch on the TV about them going through pain.
00:43:21And when I do that,
00:43:23I start experiencing that pain.
00:43:26I start experiencing hate from the people who are responsible for that pain.
00:43:31And when I hear,
00:43:33I also start creating the same pain.
00:43:36I start creating anger.
00:43:39What is it that I am radiating?
00:43:45I am also radiating pain.
00:43:48And when I radiate pain,
00:43:51then the one who was initially creating pain,
00:43:54experiencing pain,
00:43:56what are they going to receive from me?
00:44:01So actually, just by feeling that pain,
00:44:07we are adding pain to the existing pain.

00:46:45That's why COVID-19 mental issues increased,

00:46:51So this is our responsibility

00:46:57to consciously meditate and radiate power to them.
