00:00Violence against women and girls is, if you like, the end of the spectrum, but it begins with name-calling, misogyny, harassment, and so forth.
00:23We know, unfortunately, many young people are bombarded with negative images and stereotypes about girls and relationships.
00:30For example, one out of three young people has a positive view of self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate.
00:35One out of ten nine-year-olds has seen pornography on their phone.
00:40And so we're getting inside schools, working with hard-working teachers, giving them the skills and the tools to teach boys and girls how to respond to these negative images,
00:49and hopefully teach boys and girls how to have a healthy relationship, how to respond to misogyny and sexism.
01:00What's your problem?
01:04I speak to women of all ages, and especially now winter is coming in and the nights are getting darker, like we are all afraid.
01:11And it's a very real threat that I feel like has been there for a while, male violence, and it feels like it's still not being taken seriously.
01:18And as a mum, I have a son, I have a daughter, and there are challenges to both sides, and it's something that I think about all the time.
01:27How am I going to raise my son to ensure that he continues to be respectful?
01:32And how am I going to protect my daughter, but not in a way where I'm holding her responsible for the behaviour of boys and men?
01:38So to know that the Mayor of London has taken this really seriously and he's recognised it, I just feel so thankful and grateful to him for it.
