00:00It circulated quite a bit and I've heard a number of things. First people weren't
00:06sure where was USC gonna go without their star quarterback anymore. So
00:11everyone hyper focused on the quarterback situation and and where's
00:15offense gonna go without that star quarterback but the larger conversation
00:19when it comes to USC and you you mentioned it it's the fourth quarter
00:24it's the fourth quarter inefficiency I must say. After looking like they were
00:28potentially gonna add a W to their column today they fall short to Maryland
00:3329 to 28. I'm talking about Maryland picking up 15 points in the fourth
00:38quarter after USC had seven points in the first shutting out Maryland from
00:42picking up any points. 14 points in the second quarter allowing only one
00:46touchdown not putting any points on the board in the third quarter and Maryland
00:52to get in the driver's seat for that fourth quarter. We've seen four plus
00:55teams in the fourth quarter get into the driver's seat over USC so where do
00:59we start pointing the fingers here because it's not on the quarter of
01:02accurate. I think we can agree on that. No I I think Miller Moss the successor
01:08to Caleb Williams who you were referencing has been fine. I mean I think
01:13he's played fine enough for USC to not be three and four right now. This is to
01:19me all about coaching. You touched on the fourth quarter collapses today against
01:24Maryland last week against Penn State the week before that Minnesota same
01:29script at Minnesota and then they're lost to Michigan. They were ready to
01:33pull the road upset in Ann Arbor and then blew that game as well. So this to
01:39me is about coaching. USC has too much tradition too many expectations too much
01:45raw talent to be three and four right now. And with five games left the
01:49program like USC I think Lincoln Riley is gonna have a hard time keeping these
01:54kids motivated down the stretch. The thought going in was USC was ranked in
01:59the preseason. USC believed they had a shot to be a playoff contender. Now
02:04they're playing for a second or third tier bowl game. So you know this is not
02:09by the way Casey I'm not making any kind of hot seat proclamations at all. You
02:15know USC likes Lincoln Riley. That's their guy. But man he has got to raise
02:20the bar. 11 wins two years ago just eight last year. This year looks like he
02:24could be what six and six. I you know so he is regressing. His inability to win
02:30close games is starting to remind me of Scott Frost at Nebraska. I'll bring it
02:34back to UCF former UCF coach Scott Frost. So we'll bring in some UCF ties here for
02:40you as well. You gotta be able to win close games and he just hasn't been able
02:45to do that. Of course the players you know deserve some criticism for that but
02:49this is coaching. You can't keep collapsing in fourth quarters and still
02:53can still be considered a great coach and Lincoln Riley has a lot of work to
02:58do over the next month and a half.
