00:00So I got a pretty interesting request to do a speed test between the iPhone 14 Pro, the
00:07iPhone 11, and then the XS, and then the 8 Plus here.
00:12All of these are running iOS 16.
00:13All applications have been closed in the background here, and I'm pretty curious myself are we
00:18going to see a big difference here.
00:21So let's go ahead and get started.
00:30Open Subway Surf.
00:36The 8 Plus just flies in there.
00:3814, look like the XS, and look like the 14, 11, XS, and then you can see the 8 Plus just
00:46kind of chucking in there.
00:49As you can see there, now it finally got in there.
00:52So you can see the iPhone 14 Pro gets into applications extremely quickly here.
00:57All of these phones are actually very much capable of playing Subway Surf and stuff like
01:02that.
01:03Games like that, all of these, really feel pretty much the same.
01:05Now of course, like any of these type of games with 90 frames, it'll feel smoother on, you
01:11know, the 120Hz displays for sure.
01:15But that was kind of a big difference there with the 8 Plus, but the rest of them were
01:19pretty much on par with each other here.
01:29Open PUG Mobile.
01:31Alright, we are in PUBG here.
01:35Now the iPhone 14 Pro gets into PUBG extremely quick.
01:39It's almost like supernatural, the way it gets into this.
01:43It's just like boom, right there, boom, load it up.
01:47Crazy.
01:4811 right behind it, XS right behind it, 8 Plus actually did a really good job there
01:53this time.
01:54It's funny because it loaded up PUBG faster than it did the Subway Surf there.
01:59But you guys can see the 8 Plus, I mean the 14 Pro, it just gets in there instantly.
02:04It is really quick.
02:07Now as far as your graphic performance on PUBG, these actually all run PUBG the same.
02:13You guys will be surprised, except for the 8 Plus.
02:18For right now, the iPhone, my 13 Pro used to run PUBG at 90 frames, but it's not supported
02:23right now.
02:24So eventually this will get the 90 frames update, but right now they all actually can
02:29run at HDR Extreme.
02:33So that's really nice, except for the 8 Plus.
02:36I believe it does HDR, yeah it does HDR Ultra, so it can't quite do the HDR Extreme.
02:44But they all do such a fantastic job with, you know, playing games actually.
02:50Alright, let's keep it going here.
03:01Open Instagram.
03:02You can see very quickly, that was one that was kind of hard to keep up with there.
03:11Super super buttery, super super smooth.
03:14The iPhone 14 Pro, and this is what I tell people, once you go 120Hz it's going to be
03:20really hard for you to go back.
03:21So I don't know if you guys, you probably can't see, but the scrolling is so much more
03:26smoother on 120Hz versus a 60Hz display.
03:29So like I said, I would go into Best Buy and just check it out for yourself.
03:32See if 120Hz is something that you would be amazed by, because once I first saw it, I
03:39was hooked.
03:40I was like, I have to have a phone with high refresh right now.
03:43Alright, let's keep it going here.
03:52Open theverge.com.
03:53Boom, iPhone 14 Pro, super quick.
03:59All of these are actually very quick guys, surprise.
04:03Again, only difference is the scrolling speeds, you'll notice.
04:0714 Pro feels a little bit smoother, of course.
04:12And also, if you guys notice here, sometimes you get those little like scroll hiccups sometimes
04:19on the older iPhones.
04:24But you will almost never get that on the newer ones.
04:31It happens sometimes.
04:32I guess when it's like loading stuff up, it'll kind of get that initial little lag there.
04:37And also guys, one thing to notice too, like the animations and everything, also a bit
04:43smoother is something that I'm noticing too.
04:45It's like going back to the home page, just much more smoother on the 14 Pro.
04:50So it's just very little stuff.
04:52Alright, let's go ahead and keep it going here guys.
05:03Open YouTube, 14, 8 Plus, XS, and the 11 actually last there, surprisingly.
05:18Super smooth scrolling on all of these.
05:21Very nice.
05:22Alright, let's go ahead and keep it going.
05:28What else do we have on here?
05:38Open Earth, 14, so you guys can see, not too big of a difference.
05:45So this is what I always tell people, if you're looking for that big speed improvement, you're
05:50not really going to see it when it comes to casual applications.
05:56The speed improvement really with these newer phones, like if you're coming from an 11,
06:00XS, or 8 Plus, or even a 6 or 7, you're going to notice it really in graphic performance,
06:07in terms of like playing video games.
06:09But for casual applications, you won't.
06:11For gaming, launching games, stuff like that, you will see a pretty big difference there.
06:16And also, I just think overall, you get less little hiccups and stuff, those little animation
06:21hiccups.
06:22Alright, so I went ahead and opened the Geekbench scores here, so you guys can see the score
06:26difference from the A16 chip here, and then we have the A13 here, and then we have the
06:32A12, and then we have the A11 chip here as well too.
06:37And I'm really interested in RAM management on here, we didn't open a ton of applications,
06:43but I want to see, like, did they all keep these in memory?
06:47Start with Subway Surf, oh, so they actually all kept them in memory, very nice.
06:58Now I know for a fact, PUBG probably got closed on something, PUBG's still open, still open,
07:10PUBG's still open on the A plus here, it's very nice.
07:15Yeah, so I don't think we got too many closeouts here, let's try YouTube, still open.
07:24Yeah, so we didn't open up too much, but you guys can see multitasking, iOS has always
07:32been really good at multitasking here.
07:36Let's go ahead and try one last game here, oh, I forgot Earth, let's see if we got any
07:42closeouts on that, nope, alright, let's go ahead and try Temple Run.
07:56Open Temple Run, and this will be another example of how the 14 is just really quick
08:05with these games, boom, okay, we got a little popup there, that was the 11 and the 10S pretty
08:17much on par with each other for the most part.
08:19Alright guys, so that's pretty much it, again, not that big of a speed difference, like I
08:23said, you will only notice a big speed difference if you're coming from an older device, I would
08:29say, you know, graphic performance, if you're coming from like an A plus and below, as far
08:35as like opening apps and stuff like that, not a big deal, but yes, if you're playing
08:38games like Genshin and stuff like that, PUBG will just play at better settings if you're
08:42on an A plus and below, but as far as performance, performance is still going to be good on like
08:50iPhone XS, XR and up, they're still going to give you great performance.
