00:00What's up guys? I'm back with another update video and today. We're going to revisit the Galaxy s22 plus
00:06This is such a fantastic device and one of my favorite phones to recommend to people and the price has come down a
00:13Lot actually on this phone, and it's just it's really really good
00:17It's a phone that a lot of people actually forget about and don't consider
00:20But the phone is almost a perfect phone, and you'll see but you can find one in very good condition online now for $339
00:27this phone used to be like 420 last time we looked at it, so that was like a maybe five months ago and
00:34Yeah, it's coming down in price in very good condition, and it's just an excellent buy
00:39I mean it's this phone is so good at this price point. It's crazy alright
00:43so the last update that this phone got was the Android when you i6 update and
00:50We're on the March
00:52Patch I believe we should be or February
00:56Yeah, we're on March 1st, and
00:58Yeah, so the thing about this phone is that I really was hoping that Samsung would put the AI features
01:05But unfortunately, and this is a question that I was getting a lot
01:08They're not going to do that the only way they're going to get s22 users to upgrade
01:13You know to the s23 s24 s25 is the AI features because that's going to be a big part of what Samsung is doing
01:21And basically it really comes down to to the person whether you think the AI stuff is used for or not
01:27But to answer the question no, it's not coming to the s22 devices at least that's not what we've seen
01:33It's only the s23 first thing that's going to stand out when you do buy this phone is the design so basically
01:41it's this is pretty much a phone for anybody who does not like the s22 ultra because of
01:47The squared off design it has a very boxy feel and then also if you don't like it because the screen is not
01:53completely flat this the screen is flat the s22 ultra is curved and
01:59Yeah, this display on here is pretty decent size as well, too
02:02We'll get in that into that a little later
02:04but this phone feels so much better and for anybody who I think has smaller hands and
02:09Also, who just doesn't want that kind of boxy sharp feel this is the perfect phone for you at a you know
02:16A really good price. It's got the matte finish. It's ip68 dust and water resistant
02:20It still has that really cool design to it as well, too, and it's not a super heavy phone as well, too
02:25It's actually, you know, it's not a light phone, but it's not it's not like crazy heavy. So overall for the design
02:31I think this is still a fantastic looking phone in
02:342024 now, let's talk about the display a little bit more
02:37It's probably one of my favorite things about this phone as you guys can see just a super super crispy
02:43Panel here and it's it's really a just a really nice looking panel. You guys can see that the screen
02:50Bezels on here as well to just super slim for this price when this is why I say
02:55Always check out older flagships really avoid these mid-range phones
03:00Most of them for the most part as this has a 6.6 inch display as dynamic amoled
03:05It's HDR at 10 plus 120 Hertz. The max brightness is
03:091750 nits is 1080p
03:11393 for the PPI
03:13It's just a beautiful panel
03:15Like I said, this is for anybody who was looking at the s22 ultra
03:19but you really don't want a phone that's super super big and
03:22You also don't want something with a curved screen on it as well, too. And this is perfect, right?
03:28It's 6.6 inches. So it's not too too big right and then
03:33It's flat so you can put your screen protectors on here. Just fine in direct sunlight is just fine
03:39Watching videos content is just really nice on here. It's really a top-tier display still in
03:462024 here. Alright, so just a touch on the software
03:49So this is running the one UI 6 update and like I said, this is one of Samsung's
03:54I think best software updates that they've done in a long time
03:57I mean, this really was bug free for the most part. It wasn't a whole bunch of bugs with this update
04:04I thought the animations also got a lot smoother as well, too. It was really impressive
04:09So, you know the one UI 6 update
04:11I did a whole video on that if you guys want to see like all the major changes, but yeah
04:16There's no major bugs on this update. Thankfully, there's no battery life issues
04:19There's no glitches for the most part not any that I've seen
04:23So if you have seen some let me know but software wise this phone is smoother than ever in my opinion
04:28All right. So let's talk about the snapdragon 8 gen 1 for gaming is still gonna be a beast
04:33You can see we got PUBG at 90 frames on here and it's still gonna be a beast, right?
04:38I don't have access to the Xenos models because I'm in the USA guys
04:43But this one has 128 gigs of internal storage and 8 gigs of RAM and it's really really fast
04:50So the difference between this and the triple-a processor the previous one is that this one gets nowhere near as hot
04:57Um, yeah, so when you're doing gaming for a long period of time
05:01It's really not that big of an issue and I'm not saying that this doesn't get warm
05:05But it doesn't I doesn't get anywhere near as hot as the the triple-a processor
05:10But um, yeah, the gaming performance is gonna be again top tier again
05:15You're paying $300 and you're getting tops here gaming performance on games like Call of Duty PUBG fortnight
05:21It plays pretty much anything in the Play Store
05:23So whatever you really want to throw at it, whether it's Genshin or whatever
05:27You're getting a very good and powerful gaming device for relatively cheap as well, too
05:33So you guys saw me, you know buy these mid-range phones and we see, you know
05:39I want to call it pathetic but just if you're if you're a competitive gamer, the the settings are pathetic, right?
05:47But if you're a casual gamer, I guess it's fine
05:49But if you're a real gamer on a budget you you honestly are a hundred percent. I'm gonna get an old flash
05:55so there's no there's no way you buy a
05:58Budget phone. It just doesn't make any logical sense. But uh, yeah, it's it's super fast guys
06:05Here's the geekbench scores for everyone if they want to do some comparing you guys can see
06:11Where this kind of lands that I really try not to get too much into benchmarks because it's you know
06:17It's not like a big thing for most people. Most people are pretty casuals
06:21but yeah, so I want to talk about the
06:24Additional stuff. So again, you have all of your flagship features in here like Samsung desktop support the under the display fingerprint sensor
06:31It does work really well. It is the ultrasonic one and
06:36Let's talk about these speakers as well
06:38Let's turn this up max volume
06:47So
06:54The speakers are pretty nice on here they're pretty, you know clear for the most part
07:12Yeah, so the top speaker is actually putting in a good amount of work to on here as well
07:17So yeah, so the speaker quality is pretty good on this phone for the most part
07:21alright, so this phone has phenomenal cameras on it and
07:26It's just really impressive the the image quality that you get from here
07:30So this phone has a 50 megapixel standard in a 10 megapixel telephoto
07:34We have three times optical and then we also have a 12 megapixel ultra wide
07:38It shoots an 8k 24 and then we also have a 10 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4k 60
07:45The image quality is still really really good on here and I do mean it's still pretty much flagship, you know quality
07:53As compared to the s24 and s23 is still gonna take some really good shots
07:58I think the yes 24 and s23 probably does a little bit better in low-light situations for sure
08:04But I just really like the cameras on here and you know, I received the question like do you get that?
08:10That uh, you know skin whitening thing on this phone. No, I think my selfies come out pretty good
08:17you know, it's not like the older galaxy phones where the the skin kind of
08:22whitens itself or whatever
08:25this one, you know, I'm actually kind of close to my color not exactly but
08:29Kind of close to my color and video is great dynamic range is great detail is awesome
08:35It's just a really nice looking camera
08:37I mean, I can't see anybody really complaining about the cameras on here. But yeah video photos
08:43Everything is really good on here. You know, I just think this is a top-tier camera for sure
08:47Now when it comes to battery life this phone actually I think the battery life is actually better than the s22 ultra
08:54it might be because of the bigger display and the
08:58running at 1440p
09:00But this phone I definitely get better standby time and better screen on time as well, too
09:05So the battery life is a hundred percent better on the the s22 plus in my opinion
09:10It's got a 4,500 milliamp hour battery
09:12It charges at 45 watts and then you have wireless and reverse wireless charging on board
09:17The battery life is very good on this phone. You can easily get all-day battery life without having to worry
09:23So I have nothing negative to say about this phone, especially at this price
09:27It's kind of ridiculous that you can get this phone at this price. That's nearly perfect
09:33When it comes to a hardware display
09:36The processor is really good on here the cameras
09:38I still think our top tier on here as well, too
09:41And this phone is gonna still get software updates for a pretty long time as well, too
09:46So there's nothing that I don't like about this phone
09:48it this phone only got better since we looked at it with the one UI 6 update and then also with the
09:55You know with a price drop, right? So that's pretty much it
09:59I mean, this is like a this is like a top five for me this year for recommendations
