00:00What's up guys, today we've got a request, the Galaxy S22 versus the Xiaomi 12T.
00:08So let's go ahead and get started.
00:10So the Galaxy S22 will cost you a renewed refurbished, I got it for around $400, probably
00:17a little bit cheaper than that, and brand new like $600.
00:20The 12T will cost you around $500 to $600.
00:27These aren't in the renewed marketplace yet.
00:30So let's go ahead and take a look at the hardware on these two devices.
00:35So the 12T, they both have the glass and metal design on here, so they both feel very, very
00:42premium in the hand.
00:44Alright, so let's talk about the display.
00:46So the S22 does have a 6.1 inch display, it is a dynamic AMOLED display, it's 120Hz HDR
00:5310+, 1300 nits peak brightness, 1080p 425 for the PPI, it's got the punch hole, and
01:00then you also have the 12T here.
01:02Now this is a, technically it's kind of like a 2K display, so it's a 1220 by 2712 resolution,
01:10446 for the PPI, and it's a 6.67 inch display.
01:15And then it is also 120Hz HDR 10+, and then this gets up to 900 nits peak brightness.
01:22So as you can see, both screens, really, really nice, really, really colorful, almost
01:27pretty much identical to the eye as far as color, and like I said, the 12T is a higher
01:34resolution slightly, so you can take advantage of that 2K content.
01:38But both screens look really, really good, honestly, like I said, they're both 120Hz
01:42as well too, which is nice, so I have no issues with the display on here.
01:47I do think the S22 has a little bit slimmer bezels as well, so I don't know if you can
01:55tell, but the bezels are a little bit slimmer, so it does look a little bit better on the
01:59front, but overall, these are two fantastic displays, so you can't go wrong with either
02:06of them.
02:07Let's talk about the specs a little bit more, because this is pretty interesting.
02:10So with the S22, you do have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip, and the Adreno 730, no SD card
02:17support, 128GB of internal storage, and 8GB of RAM.
02:21On the Xiaomi, you do have their MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra chipset, and then you
02:28also have 128GB of internal storage, 8GB of RAM, no SD card support.
02:33You can see that the S22 has a higher single core, but you also have a higher multi-core
02:40on the 12T.
02:42Both of these phones are like blazing, blazing fast here.
02:45It really comes down to which UI you prefer.
02:49I personally prefer One UI over the MIUI experience.
02:54I think One UI is a little bit more polished to me, and there's a little bit more useful
02:58features, but as you guys saw there, these are like almost spot on when it comes to overall
03:05speed and stuff like that, so it's really, really fast on both of these guys.
03:11They're almost pretty much the same.
03:16As far as the gaming experience goes, we'll launch something a little bit more heavier
03:20like PUBG.
03:24As far as speed goes, both of these phones are very, very fast when it comes to speed.
03:28Both of these chipsets are pretty good.
03:31As far as gaming performance, the MediaTek doesn't seem to be as hot or to heat up as
03:38much.
03:39The S22 does, I'm not a huge gamer, but the S22, it can get a little bit warm long periods
03:44of gaming.
03:45We can see the 12T beats it right there, just slightly behind.
03:54Let's check out the graphic performance.
03:55I believe the graphics are pretty much the same here.
03:59I don't think either of these phones can do 90 frames.
04:01I'm not sure.
04:02Can't remember.
04:04The 12T can do 90 frames at smooth, which is really sweet, so you can take advantage
04:10of that.
04:11I'll drop a full gaming test for the 12T, but there's no option for 90 frames on the
04:17S22, so you can only play at the 60 frames.
04:24A lot of people ask me, is there a big difference with 90 frames?
04:29For shooting games, yes.
04:30The 90 frames versus 60 frames, it is a big difference.
04:33Even though the S22 is very smooth at 60, if you're a gamer gamer, then you'll know
04:40the higher the frame rate, it just feels way more instant.
04:45It just feels more instant.
04:46Overall, I think the 12T is better for gaming, because this phone doesn't get as hot during
04:55long periods of gaming.
04:57That's the only thing with these Snapdragon chips, is that they heat up, to me, more than
05:02I would like, but the 60 frames on here is very smooth, but like I said, you definitely
05:09will notice that 90 frames there, for sure.
05:12Let's check out the speakers.
05:13We're at max volume.
05:32Oh yeah, 12T, definitely way better bass, and a little bit louder, too.
05:40You can actually feel the bass.
05:57It almost makes the S22 sound flat, in comparison.
06:03That's pretty sweet.
06:07I definitely really like the speakers on the 12T.
06:11You can actually really feel that bass on there.
06:13Both of these phones have, under the display, fingerprint sensors.
06:16You can also do face unlock.
06:18They work really well, very fast.
06:22Only thing about the 12T is that the fingerprint sensor is really down below.
06:26I wish it was just up a little bit more, but they both work perfectly fine.
06:31They both feel pretty much the same.
06:34As far as features go, I really like the Samsung desktop support, secure folders, stuff like
06:39that.
06:40It's really Samsung desktop support is the main thing that I really like on Samsung phones,
06:45and also, I just think the One UI is a little bit cleaner than MIUI, in my opinion.
06:52Let's go ahead and talk about the cameras.
06:56Let's talk about the cameras.
06:57With the 12T, you have a 108-megapixel standard, 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel
07:03macro.
07:04It shoots in 4K30, and then a 20-megapixel selfie camera that shoots in 1080p60.
07:09With the S22, you do have a 50-megapixel standard on here, and then a 10-megapixel telephoto
07:16that's 3X, and then you also have a 12-megapixel ultra-wide.
07:20It shoots in 8K24, and then you have a 10-megapixel selfie camera that shoots in 4K60.
07:26Let me know which shots do you guys prefer.
07:29Look at the side-by-side stills.
07:30Let me know which one you thought was better.
07:56The video on the S22, it's on 3X.
08:27This is the R.6.
08:39Alright guys, here's the video on the 12T.
08:42You guys can see here, here's my 2X zoom.
08:53Let me know what you guys think.
08:57Alright, so let's talk about battery life.
08:59So, I think the battery life goes to the 12T pretty easily.
09:04It's got a 5,000 milliamp battery.
09:06Not only that, it has 120-watt charging that you actually get the charger in the box, which
09:11is absolutely crazy.
09:12This phone does lack wireless charging though, so that could be a downside for you.
09:17Now, the S22 does have a 3,700 milliamp battery, 25-watt charging, and it does have wireless
09:23and reverse wireless charging as well.
09:27You definitely get a little bit better battery life on the 12T for sure, and like I said,
09:31it charges amazingly fast, but you do have wireless charging on the S22, so it really
09:40depends on what you want.
09:42But that is pretty much it guys.
09:43I think it comes down to the photos, really.
09:46The photos, also the battery life, or the charging speeds, that sort of depends on the
09:53person, but I think this comes down to the photos and whether you like One UI or MiUI.
10:00Be sure to let me know what you guys think, and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
