00:00What's up guys today, we're gonna be comparing the galaxy s 23 to the galaxy s 10e
00:05So this is a pretty good comparison because both these phones are almost similar in size
00:12But also this can be a downgrade as well. So we're gonna talk about that as well, too
00:17So there's definitely upgrades here, but there are downgrades as well. So let's go ahead and jump into it here
00:22All right
00:23So first off you are getting a updated and more modern design for sure here
00:28And I do like the design choice on the s 23 just having the matte finish
00:33You don't have to deal with like the fingerprints on the back of the phone here
00:37You also get an updated camera look as well too and also for the body
00:42so they're both small phones, but the s 10e is slightly smaller and
00:48They both are very light in the hand as well to you, which is really nice
00:52They're both ip68 dust and water resistant as well. And like I said, they both have those smooth edges
00:58So they're extremely easy to hold
01:00there are some very
01:02Important hardware differences here. So down below in the s 10e you are gonna be having a headphone jack on here
01:09There's no headphone jack, of course on the s 23, but also the s 10e does have micro SD card support
01:15There's no SD card support on the s 23
01:18So those are two essential things that you're going to be giving up as far as the hardware goes
01:24They both still have stereo speakers, which we will compare
01:27But also there's also something
01:30interesting going on with the hardware the s 10e has a
01:34Physical fingerprint sensor built into the power button, which I absolutely love
01:38I think it's really really awesome that they did that one of my favorite implementations of you know getting into your phone
01:46The s 23 does have the fingerprint sensor on here as well, which I really like
01:51It's definitely feels modern and cool, but this just feels extremely natural to me
01:56So I wish Samsung will bring this back. Alright, so let's go ahead and talk about the displays here
02:00So the s 23 it does have a 6.1 inch display. So it's slightly bigger and then it's 1080p
02:07425 for the PPI HDR 10 plus and it gets a max brightness of
02:121750 nits the s 10e has a smaller 5.8 inch display
02:16It's 1080p 438 for the PPI dynamic AMOLED HDR 10 plus as well, too. So you're definitely
02:24Getting a brighter display
02:26You're getting a display with slimmer bezels as well, too
02:30As you guys can see and then you're getting a smaller punch hole as well, too
02:34And it's in the middle, which I think is better
02:37But yeah, you are getting a smaller punch hole and you also are getting 120 Hertz
02:42So I think the display upgrade is pretty good now as far as the quality of both these panels
02:47The s 10e still looks fantastic. And again, this is like a hundred
02:51You know $20 phone on Amazon at least in the USA
02:55So it's a beautiful display for sure still looks really good in my opinion
03:00So the real upgrade here is that is the s 23 is going to be brighter outdoors
03:06You know if you're a direct sunlight and also the 120 Hertz, you know, it just feels smoother. It's easier on the eyes
03:14definitely
03:15Something that I really like but the s 10e is a very smooth
03:1960 Hertz phone as well, too
03:22So it just comes down to that. Do you want, you know, the brighter display 120 Hertz?
03:27Do you care about that as far as resolution and quality wise? They still pretty much look the same
03:31All right, guys, let's talk about the specs a little bit more. We have the snapdragon 8
03:37All right guys, let's talk about these specs a little bit more we have the snapdragon 855 on the s 10e
03:42We also have SD card support
03:44Like I said earlier and they are 128 gigs and 6 gigs of RAM on the base model
03:48We have the new snapdragon 8 gen 2 on here
03:51And we also have 128 gigs and 8 gigs of RAM on the base model. You guys can see the big score difference here
03:58And also there is something to note the s 10e last major OS update was Android
04:0412 4.1 and
04:06It's currently getting security patches. You have a pretty long lifespan cycle on the s 23
04:11I believe it gets four years of major OS updates in five years of security patches
04:16So that's also another bonus here as far as the general speed
04:20Like I said, if you're not like a hardcore gamer the snapdragon 855 is still extremely efficient as you guys can see here
04:27It's pretty much neck-and-neck even with the newest chip. So it's very fast
04:31You're not gonna notice too much of a difference and overall just the animations
04:35Are still pretty smooth on the s 10e
04:37It's not like it's lagging or glitching. I actually did a gaming test and it actually did a fantastic job
04:43With that, but like I said as far as the speed difference
04:46Like I said, the 120 Hertz plays a big role and making the phone appear
04:50Smoother and it's just easier on the eyes. I said the SNE is still pretty smooth
04:54But you can definitely feel that smoothness of the 120 Hertz. I would say that's the big speed difference
05:01Overall, there's not an actual speed difference when it comes to using the phone
05:06Let's go ahead and launch pub G here
05:09All right. So when we get into pub G here, you can see on the s 10e
05:13We're actually able to play at HDR extreme and you can see it's still very smooth guys
05:18So, like I said, I do have a full gaming test. It's still very smooth
05:21The only thing is it's a smaller phone. So when you're gaming the battery will die quicker and stuff like that
05:27So that's what why with the s 23
05:29Since the battery is more efficient
05:32Not the battery, but the chip is more efficient
05:35It's just more ideal for gaming on this size, I guess but like I said, if you're a casual game
05:41You're not gonna notice too much of a difference
05:43Like I said, it really comes down to people who actually play games for a pretty long period of time
05:48You'll really notice that difference
05:51But you know, if you're just a casual person come in play a couple games every now and then
05:55You're not gonna notice too much of a difference
05:57There you go
05:59Let's check out these speakers max volume s 23
06:05I
06:07I
06:30Yeah, so the s 10e actually sound better right off the bat I was actually surprised by that
06:37It sounds more fuller
06:41The bass is definitely hitting harder
06:46It's close but you it's like
06:49Noticeably louder like not not noticeably louder, but it's noticeably fuller
07:01Let me see if they'll be at malls one
07:06Yeah, so they'll be at Moses on them both yeah, I just think the s 10e speaker sound better to me
07:11They'd have a more fuller sound
07:14The s 23 it sounds good, but it's a little flat compared to the s 10e
07:19I'd definitely give it to the speaker see s 10e for sure
07:23All right. So here is where I think the biggest upgrade is coming and that is the camera
07:28So I'm gonna show you guys some side-by-side steals, but let's go over the specs
07:32So the s 10e has a dual camera setup
07:35It's a 12 megapixel standard and then a 16 megapixel ultra-wide. This phone does not have any type of
07:41Telephoto lens, so all the zoom is digital. Basically. You also have 4k 60 video on here and a 10 megapixel
07:49Selfie cam that shoots in 4k 60 as well. Yes 23 you do get that extra camera
07:55So and you also just get better specs
07:57So you have a 50 megapixel standard lens 10 megapixel telephoto lens that does 3x optical zoom
08:03And then you also have a 12 megapixel ultra-wide this shoots in 8k 24
08:09And then you also have excuse me, not 8k 24
08:12But 8k 30 and then you also have on here at 12 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4k
08:1960 as well too. So check out these side-by-side stills
08:27I
08:57Don't know
09:12Here's the s 23 3x
09:240.6
09:2812 times digital
09:38All right, here's the video on the s 10e
09:43See that looks like and we have our 0.5
09:57What you guys think
10:02All right, so lastly let's talk about the battery life you're getting a pretty nice battery upgrades here
10:08So let's go over the specs. You have a 3900 milliamp battery on the s 23 20 watt 25 watt
10:14Charging on here wireless and reverse wireless charging on the s 10
10:18You do have on here a 3100 milliamp battery 15 watt charging wireless and reverse wireless charging
10:24So basically the s 10e will get around 4 hours 30 minutes screen on time
10:30You're getting close to around 6 hours if not more on the s 23
10:35So this definitely can last you all day if you're a light user like myself
10:39The s 23 no matter how you use it pretty much lasts like 4 hours
10:44You know max so that's the only downside to this phone
10:46It's because the battery is small pretty much on here and this just has a more efficient chipset as well, too
10:52So the battery upgrade you definitely will notice between these two for sure
10:56You will get some extra juice and you will be able to get through a full day
10:59I think with the s 23, so that's pretty much it guys
11:03Be sure to let me know what you guys think and I'll catch you guys in the next one
