00:00We break down the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Kansas City Chiefs.
00:08The favorites in the AFC go to the favorites in the NFC.
00:13The odds are suggesting that this Super Bowl rematch is the first of a pair of Super Bowl
00:20rematches that we could get this season between the Niners and the Chiefs.
00:26One and a half to two points is your spread.
00:29The total for this game, flat 47s with some 47s and a halves out there.
00:35The money lines for Kansas City as good as plus 115.
00:39The Niners as low as minus 122.
00:44And for me, I look at this game, and as Donnie alluded to, chills down my spine.
00:51I don't want to see it.
00:52I don't want to watch it.
00:53Everybody's excited and I'm still annoyed.
00:56A Super Bowl that Kansas City never should have won.
01:00A run last year that was littered, not with excellent play by Mahomes or Kelsey, though
01:07it was littered by coaching incompetence and impossible to understand decisions on the
01:13other side of the field, though Kyle Shanahan has made a habit of that in the Super Bowl.
01:19The Kyle special, double digit lead, and then proceed to lose that football game.
01:24But it's the regular season, Donnie.
01:26So the MO could be a little bit different.
01:28I'm leaning Niners.
01:30I'm backing my guy.
01:31We'll get to that in a different capacity.
01:33What are you seeing here for the Super Bowl rematch?
01:36I think it's the 49ers today.
01:37If we honestly play it out the way it's supposed to be played, Kansas City has Patrick Mahomes
01:41and Andy Reid.
01:42It's a buy.
01:43They're supposed to automatically win.
01:44Not necessarily.
01:45This isn't the same Kansas City team that we've seen.
01:46But then you could say, well, Donnie, in the offseason, you said as long as Andy Reid and
01:50also Patrick Mahomes are going to be active for a football game, that's all you care about.
01:53Technically so.
01:54They're just not as talented.
01:56Wide receiving corps.
01:57Watson, Schmist, Shuster, and Worthy.
01:58Kelsey, basically on one leg from where he was two, two and a half years ago at this
02:02point.
02:03Kareem Hunt, still fresh off the couch trying to get those words.
02:05And you're on the road here.
02:06Now, I do like the offensive line for Kansas City, but they have one major weakness, Joe.
02:10Both of the tackles.
02:11You are going to get a great pass rush out of the San Francisco 49ers today.
02:15So if I want to start to my keys to the game to open this one up, it's the offensive line
02:19of Kansas City keeping Patrick Mahomes upright in the pocket.
02:22And it might be Pat Mahomes running the football in terms of man-to-man coverage.
02:26We've seen him make plays with his legs.
02:27He's coming off a 331-yard performance, no touchdowns but the interception.
02:32He does a great job of just locating open wide receivers, right?
02:36He found Kelsey early on against New Orleans, found Juju in the second half when the game
02:41was on the line.
02:42Maybe this is an Xavier Worthy type of game, right?
02:45He was nonexistent in the receiving game a couple of weeks ago, and this could be an
02:49opportunity to really showcase why they took him in the first round.
02:52So he's a speedster, could run off San Francisco's defense, and we saw Seattle move the football.
02:58They didn't move it consistently with Kenneth Walker.
03:00He only had 34 yards on the ground.
03:03Now granted, they fell behind, so the running attack was taken out somewhat.
03:08But I think they throw the football on Sanford.
03:10I think maybe a little tempo, and they look to get the lead, and then do what they always
03:14do, right?
03:15Rely on the defense.
03:16Yeah, do what they always do.
03:17Sit on the ball, let the game be close, and hope the opponent beats themselves.
03:22Listen, nobody's gonna be like, man, does Kevin hate this Kansas City?
03:25No, I hate this Kansas City team.
03:27I cannot stand this team.
03:29To have the juice that they're supposed to have and provide the most unenjoyable games
03:34on a consistent basis is not exciting to me.
03:38It's not.
03:39I hope they get drilled.
03:40I hope that they lose this game by 100 points here today.
03:45But the Niners are not on my card.
03:48Not because I fear Kansas City.
03:51It's because I respect Kansas City off of a buy.
03:54It is the perfect spot for this team to be in.
03:58Because again, for some reason, the MVP award is already at Mahomes' house, despite having
04:05six touchdowns and six picks, and not looking anywhere near one of the ten best quarterbacks
04:10in the league.
04:11No, because Andy Reid should right now have top five coach of the year odds.
04:16Pacheco, gone.
04:17Hollywood Brown, never plays a game.
04:19Rasheed Rice, injured by Mahomes.
04:21That should count against him in the MVP race.
04:23Yet it doesn't matter.
04:24They consistently are in a good position to win.
04:28That's always credited to Mahomes.
04:29Apparently he's coaching up Nick Bolton and Chris Jones the entire way.
04:33Look, again, I mix no words about it.
04:35I cannot stand it.
04:37The conversation is nauseating.
04:40It suggests nobody is watching these games.
04:42Did they win?
04:43Gosh, this guy Pat.
04:45I mean, is anybody doing it like him?
04:48No!
04:49Nobody out there is playing this mediocre and getting this much praise.
04:53So I want to see today what you're talking about, Joe.
04:56Them show up and score.
04:58Because the Niners' defense, despite having all the talent in the world, the best linebacker
05:03in the league, one of the best pass rushers in the world, they've had the ball moved on
05:07them this season.
05:09So Kansas City should be able to move it.
05:12I don't trust them to do anything.
05:14There's no reason to ever trust them to move the ball.
05:16No, but Pat Mahomes is a big reason.
05:19I mean, it's a quarterback-centric type of league, and you can make the argument to the
05:22MVP that, you know, Lamar Jackson got it last year based, yes, he had numbers, but it was
05:27based off the team's record, right?
05:29Why?
05:30No, that is why he won.
05:31He was a terrible MVP.
05:32He didn't deserve it at all.
05:33But that's why you're seeing Pat Mahomes at the front right now, because the Chiefs are
05:36undefeated because of how they're doing it.
05:39And again, if his numbers tail off and the Chiefs lose three straight the way the Niners
05:43did, he's not going to be in the front running anymore.
05:45So it just comes down to this team finds ways to get it done, right?
05:49And with Pat Mahomes that's won three Super Bowls.
05:52From the gambling perspective, it's very difficult to get off of that, right, off of that type
05:56of situation.
05:57But I still believe they can move the football.
06:00I'm not sold on San Francisco being an elite defense.
06:03We've seen teams move it on them.
06:05Arizona put up 27 points.
06:07Tyler had success.
06:08They ran it.
06:09They threw it.
06:10So I think everything's on the table.
06:12And again, when you have Andy Reid coming out of a bye, great success, the ability to
06:17game plan.
06:18I think all the pressure's back on San Francisco to prove that they were deserving of winning
06:23the Super Bowl.
