Over the past twelve months youngsters across the block have struggled with rising costs, particularly in France, the Netherlands and Greece.

00:10Across the EU, tens of thousands of people have been unable to cover rent costs over the past 12 months,
00:18an average of 6.3% in EU nations.
00:23This number doesn't even include people who are at risk of poverty or social exclusion.
00:30Greece has the highest rate of people who are struggling, 17.7%,
00:37followed by France, Slovenia and the Netherlands.
00:42The 16 to 29 age range is the most troubled,
00:47accounting for around 15% of all people in the EU who haven't been able to pay their rent in the last 12 months,
00:5823.8% in France, 23.4% in Greece, 16.1% in the Netherlands.
01:08The Eurostat dataset also shows 4.9% of people in the EU have experienced housing difficulties in their lifetime,
01:19meaning that at some point they had no place of their own and were forced to stay in temporary accommodation.
