Berlin: Man stabbed at Holocaust memorial, hours after arrest over planned attack on Israeli embassy

A man has been seriously injured after being stabbed at Berlin's Holocaust memorial, while an 18-year-old Russian citizen was arrested in Brandenburg for planning an attack on the Israeli embassy.

00:00A man was critically injured after being stabbed at the Holocaust Memorial in the German capital

00:08The victim was identified as a 30-year-old Spanish man who was transferred to a nearby
00:13hospital to receive urgent treatment.
00:16A person was arrested near the scene of the attack and officials are working on identifying
00:21a motive.
00:23Police say the stabbing happened around 6 p.m. local time and the arrest happened some
00:28three hours later.
00:31They added that the arrested person was spotted by officers near the memorial grounds with
00:35blood on his hands, raising suspicion.
00:39The attack came just a few hours after an 18-year-old was arrested who was suspected
00:43of planning an attack on the Israeli embassy.
00:47The incident also comes just two days before Germany's vote in a national election on Sunday.
