00:00Now let's dive a little bit deeper into Tableau User Roles.
00:05Tableau Prep is included as part of the Tableau Creator Role, which includes Tableau Prep Builder,
00:12Tableau Desktop, and one license of either Tableau Server or Tableau Online.
00:18Now there's a difference between Tableau User Roles and Tableau Products.
00:23User Roles represent what a user can do, view, explore, and create.
00:29Products represent what tools those users will have access to, to be able to create, explore, and view.
00:36These include Tableau Desktop, Tableau Prep, and Tableau Server.
00:41You'll see that with the different roles, you'll get access to different products.
00:45The Creator Role will give you access to all three, including Desktop, Prep, and Server.
00:51An Explorer Role will give you access to an online version of Desktop, called Web Authoring, and Server Access.
00:58And finally, the Viewer Role will give you access directly to Tableau Server.
01:03Each of the roles and products are important to understand, because as a developer,
01:08you're creating for those explorers and viewers of the world, and you should understand what their capabilities are
01:14and what you're able to provide to them using the products at your disposal.
01:19As a reminder, we'll only be covering Tableau Prep Builder as part of this course.
01:24Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server will be covered in our other courses.
