00:00In Havana, Cuba, on Monday morning, the power was restored to about 50% of the people.
00:05The Electric Union of the capital province reported that currently 172 circuits have
00:10service, which represents 317 megawatts that serve around 50% of clients.
00:15In this regard, the General Director of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Cuba,
00:20Lázaro Guerra Hernández, informed that there are 700 megawatts served in the country and
00:26work is being done to consolidate the existing microsystems.
00:30The Mariel Unit No. 8 is already in service, and so are the floating power plants of Havana,
00:35Mariel and Energaz Boca de Jaduco, which are collectively providing coverage to the capital
00:40and some areas of the province of Mayabeque and Artemisa.
00:44The central microsystem is supplying more than 200 megawatts from the provinces of Matanzas
00:49to Camaguey.
00:50The rest of the provinces have functional subsystems.
00:53The Electric Union stressed it keeps working to follow the strategy in place to guarantee
00:57the connection of the national electric system.
