00:06Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most entertaining films
00:11that seem like they must have been an absolute blast for the cast and crew to make.
00:16Breathe on it.
00:23Number 10. Guardians of the Galaxy
00:25When you're starring in a movie that's equal parts sci-fi adventure and ensemble comedy,
00:30it's bound to feel like a costume party on set.
00:33And judging by the vibes of Guardians of the Galaxy, that's exactly how it went down.
00:38Metaphors are gonna go over his head.
00:40Nothing goes over my head. My reflexes are too fast. I wouldn't catch it.
00:45I'm gonna die surrounded by the biggest idiots in the galaxy.
00:49Based on one of the Marvel Comics' lesser-known properties,
00:52this film brought together a ragtag crew of superheroes,
00:56including a talking raccoon and a sentient tree that can only say three words.
01:01I am Groot.
01:03Well, that's just as fascinating as the first 89 times you told me that.
01:07What is wrong with giving tree deer?
01:09If that doesn't sound like the perfect fodder for pranks and other antics when the cameras aren't rolling,
01:14we don't know what does.
01:16With dialogue straight out of any 2000s R-rated comedy,
01:20and brilliant use of physical humor,
01:22it's easy to imagine the cast cracking up between takes.
01:26Dance off, bro. Me versus you.
01:29It's on.
01:34Number nine, Barbie.
01:36For audiences 20-23s, Barbie was an absolute thrill ride,
01:40bringing their beloved childhood dolls to life.
01:43But for the folks behind the scenes, it was even more fun.
01:46Making Barbie felt less like work and more like a four-month vacation.
01:50Beautiful. Genuinely beautiful.
01:52And there's such craftsmanship and such artistry in all of it.
01:56I felt like I was a miniature little doll in the real dream houses.
02:00Even before production began, director Greta Gerwig threw a sleepover
02:04for the female cast members to allow them to bond.
02:07Then, while filming, they would have movie nights every Sunday
02:10and even caught a Magic Mike live show together.
02:13It's Margot and Ryan. They're both just extraordinary.
02:16Margot was able to do anything and up for everything,
02:20and it was really fun to work with her.
02:22Add in the goofy, over-the-top scenes,
02:24larger-than-life sets, and elaborate dance numbers,
02:27and it's no surprise that the film felt like a playground for its actors.
02:31Who wouldn't have a blast turning such a whimsical fantasy into reality?
02:36The songs are so fun. Like, everyone can't stop singing the songs.
02:40Oh!
02:41The movie is like an escape hatch into this crazy, magical, musical, funny land.
02:47Number eight, Hot Fuzz.
02:49Director Edgar Wright is known for his inventive approach to filmmaking
02:53and sharp humor, qualities that were on full display
02:56in his 2007 action-comedy Hot Fuzz.
03:00Two-foot-tall, long, slender neck.
03:03Yeah.
03:04Orange and black bill.
03:06Anything else?
03:08Wait. It's a swan.
03:10The film's script, co-written by Wright,
03:12was bursting with wit and pop culture references,
03:15offering the cast a lot of playful, tongue-in-cheek scenarios.
03:18It's a movie that wasn't afraid to poke fun at itself
03:21and the classic buddy cop flicks it paid homage to,
03:24which could only have created a fun environment for improvisation.
03:28Sergeant Butterman, Little Hand says it's time to rock and roll.
03:33Bring the noise.
03:34If anything, Hot Fuzz made it abundantly clear
03:37that for Wright and the two leads, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost,
03:40who are his longtime friends,
03:42filmmaking is as much a hobby as it is a profession.
03:46It was really fun on set.
03:48It was a happy set, actually.
03:50I think it's the thing I've enjoyed the most ever.
03:53Number seven, Ocean's Eleven.
03:55To pull off a successful heist,
03:57you need a team of smart criminals who work well together.
04:00Similarly, to make a film about a successful heist,
04:03you need a stellar cast with undeniable chemistry.
04:06Ocean's Eleven had that in abundance.
04:09Could a pinch knock out the power of an entire city?
04:14Like, for instance...
04:15Las Vegas?
04:19Yeah, I think it might.
04:20With heavyweights like George Clooney, Brad Pitt,
04:23Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts,
04:25it must have felt like a nonstop Hollywood party on set.
04:29And a major part of the reason why the movie works
04:32is because of the magnetic chemistry between these A-listers.
04:36Dean.
04:37Tess.
04:38I told you.
04:40I knew I was doing it.
04:43I didn't.
04:45It certainly also helped that it was filmed in Las Vegas,
04:49surrounded by the city's glitz and glam,
04:51which only added to the high-stakes allure.
04:54In the end, everything clicked perfectly,
04:56making the film as triumphant as the heist it portrayed.
05:00You are a much...
05:07Bring him in! Bring him on in!
05:09Number six.
05:10The Wolf of Wall Street.
05:11There are so many wild behind-the-scenes tales
05:14from the making of The Wolf of Wall Street
05:16that it's pretty hard to keep track.
05:19I'm in. I'm in for tonight.
05:21Jonah Hill apparently did so much fake drugs
05:24that he ended up with bronchitis,
05:26while Leonardo DiCaprio had a popular lubricant brand
05:29slapped on his face repeatedly.
05:32Every day on set was a roller coaster,
05:34but that's to be expected when working with
05:36a high-octane director like Martin Scorsese.
05:40The show goes on!
05:44This is my home!
05:45To make The Wolf of Wall Street,
05:47the cast was essentially immersed in a world
05:49of outrageous parties, high-stakes deals,
05:52and drug-fueled escapades for months.
05:55What they created was a film only half as exhilarating
05:58as the raucous fun they had making it.
06:01He was throwing up into a trash bin,
06:03and everyone was like,
06:04Leo, are you okay? Are you okay?
06:05And the only two people on the floor laughing hysterically
06:08were myself and Martin Scorsese.
06:10That's hilarious.
06:11Number five.
06:12Mamma Mia!
06:13For a film based on a hit parade of pop anthems,
06:15it's not hard to imagine the cast
06:17must have had an absolute blast making it.
06:20You are the dancing queen
06:24Young and sweet, only 17
06:30To make things even more interesting,
06:32Mamma Mia! was shot on a trio of breathtaking Greek islands,
06:36which meant the cast got to enjoy gorgeous scenery
06:39and sunny weather while they worked.
06:41Waiting for the day
06:44When we're far away
06:46For our last summer
06:49We could laugh and play
06:53Virtually every scene was packed with feel-good ABBA hit songs,
06:56providing the sort of energy
06:58that would have made every day feel like a sing-along party.
07:01And who better to have such a party with
07:04other than names like Meryl Streep,
07:06Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth,
07:08and Christine Baranski?
07:10This was definitely like living out a musical fantasy
07:13where the fun just never ends.
07:16This is the most fun they've ever had.
07:18Try not to hog the shot, guys.
07:20For our last summer
07:23We're having a bloody great time.
07:25This is one of the best jobs ever.
07:27The nice guys
07:29Fine. I'm done. Put a fork in me.
07:32Don't really put a fork in me.
07:34By now we know that Ryan Gosling
07:36can nail the funny and campy roles
07:38with the right script.
07:40But back in 2016, Gosling hadn't really
07:42dipped his toes into that kind of film.
07:44And the same goes for Russell Crowe.
07:46That's why it was such a treat
07:48to watch them bounce off each other
07:50as a dysfunctional detective duo
07:52in The Nice Guys.
07:53You're not a murderer.
07:54She just said she killed three people.
07:56I know, but I'm saying deep down.
07:58But as enjoyable as it was for us,
08:00it was arguably even more so for them.
08:03With chaos and comedy colliding
08:05in the best way possible,
08:07it's obvious they enjoyed leaning into
08:09their characters' quirks.
08:10Plus, the 1970s setting,
08:12with its outrageous fashion,
08:14colorful sets, and ridiculous mustaches,
08:16probably made the whole experience
08:18feel like a retro fever dream.
08:20Russell is good at physical comedy.
08:22Even though I've never seen him do it,
08:24he can subvert it.
08:25You think you're gonna go right,
08:26and he takes you left.
08:27Number three, School of Rock.
08:29It's impossible to picture School of Rock
08:31without Jack Black.
08:32In fact, the movie likely wouldn't have
08:34been made without him,
08:35as screenwriter Mike White penned the script
08:38with Black specifically in mind.
08:41I come from the land of the ice and snow
08:43When the midnight sun
08:44Let the hot springs flow
08:46His infectious energy on the set
08:48seemed to have made the filming process
08:50an absolute joy.
08:51Black didn't just show up for his own scenes.
08:53He also stuck around to keep the kids company
08:56and played games with them between takes.
08:58It may seem corny, but it worked.
09:01We got the song.
09:02Rock, scissors, paper.
09:04It was the most fun I've had making a movie.
09:06It was a lot of fun.
09:08It was the most fun I've had making a movie
09:10and the most work.
09:11Mind you, these weren't just any kids.
09:13They were talented musicians
09:15who actually played their own instruments
09:17in the film.
09:18Imagine being a young musician
09:19and getting to jam with Jack Black
09:21and a Hollywood crew.
09:23Sounds like the ultimate dream field trip.
09:26Check out her best Jack Black impression.
09:30He likes to do that a lot.
09:32Number two, Anchorman.
09:34The legend of Ron Burgundy.
09:35What do you get when you gather the comedy
09:37all-stars of the 2000s in one film?
09:39The complete chaos that is Anchorman,
09:42the legend of Ron Burgundy.
09:44Brick, are you just looking at things in the office
09:46and saying that you love them?
09:48I love lamp.
09:49Clearly, improv reigns supreme on this set,
09:51with the actors encouraged to go wild.
09:54And when those actors are comedy powerhouses
09:56like Will Ferrell, Steve Carell,
09:59Christina Applegate, and Paul Rudd,
10:01you just know it was a laugh riot.
10:03I thought it was a joke!
10:05I even wrote it down in my diary!
10:08Veronica had a very funny joke today!
10:11I laughed at it later that night!
10:13The ridiculous plot,
10:14complete with absurd anchor rivalries,
10:16and that bizarre news team brawl,
10:19which, quite frankly, escalated quickly,
10:21gave the cast endless opportunities
10:23to play off each other's antics.
10:25So many, in fact, that they had enough outtakes
10:28to create a companion film titled
10:30Wake Up, Ron Burgundy!
10:32The Lost Movie.
10:34It's about to happen!
10:35You'll have to be the weakest one.
10:37Sweet Lord.
10:39I don't know if I can eat a friend.
10:41I once ate an entire bowl of Legos.

11:00Number 1.
11:01Tropic Thunder
11:02Co-written, starring, and directed by Ben Stiller,
11:05Tropic Thunder is a hilarious satire
11:07that pokes fun at the extreme lengths
11:09some actors would go to for their craft.
11:11Make a difference.
11:14Again.
11:16Only this time,
11:18it's different.
11:21Who left the fridge open?
11:23Perhaps no one was more qualified
11:25to lampoon this experience
11:27than some of Hollywood's funniest
11:29and most talented people.
11:30Stiller, Robert Downey Jr., and Jack Black,
11:33playing actors who lose their grip on reality
11:35while making a movie in the jungle.
11:37These heavyweights were given free reign
11:39to improvise, so there's no doubt
11:41there were a lot of ridiculous
11:43behind-the-scenes moments.
11:44Five-time Academy Award winner
11:46Kirk Lazarus
11:49and MTV Movie Award
11:51Best Kiss winner
11:52Tobey Maguire.
11:53The film cleverly riffs on Hollywood tropes,
11:56providing the perfect platform
11:57for the actors to indulge in comedy,
11:59while skewering their own industry.
12:01How meta.
