The upcoming 5th World Association Presidents Conference (WAPC), to be hosted by Malaysia for the first time outside of China, offers a comprehensive platform for Chinese investors to gain deeper insights into Malaysia’s economic landscape, said Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday (Oct 22), the MCA president highlighted the participation of top government officials, including two deputy prime ministers, four ministers, and several state leaders, as a strong signal of Malaysia’s commitment to fostering investment and collaboration.

00:34The conference has been held successfully in Hangzhou for the last 4 sessions and it
00:40is indeed a great honour for Malaysia to be the host for the 5th conference, the first
00:45time it is held outside Hangzhou, China.
00:49Our congratulations to MCA and Network 3 for successfully bringing this prestigious
00:56event to Malaysia.
00:58The Malaysian-China Friendship Association is an NGO dedicated to the promotion of friendship
01:04and mutual understanding between China and Malaysia at the level of people-to-people.
01:10In promoting people-to-people diplomacy, the Association conducts exchange programs and
01:16activities in sectors such as culture, education, tourism, youth and sports and public health.
01:24The Association also actively engages itself in other sectors such as trade, economic technology,
01:32green technology and civilizational dialogue through participation in exhibitions, seminars,
01:38media interviews and publications in support of Malaysia-China cooperation in these areas.
01:45The Association works closely with the China Peoples' Friendship Association, the foreign
01:52country, our counterpart and as well as associations at the provincial level to foster deeper friendship
01:59and co-activity between Malaysia and China at the people-to-people level.
02:05Ladies and gentlemen, with its theme Promote Trade Liberalization and Economic Globalization,
02:12the Fifth Confluence is expected to be a very dynamic platform for policymakers and
02:18business communities of Malaysia and China to forge cooperation and understanding in
02:23meeting the current global economic uncertainty and challenges.
02:27It will be another catalyst for regional economic recovery and in particular to elevate Malaysia-China
02:34trade and economic linkages to a higher level as our two countries enter a new era in their relationship.
02:44The Conoco Conference will indeed reflect the spirit of working together with the Administration
02:51towards shared prosperity, peace and development in a turbulent world.
02:58The Malaysia-China Friendship Association extends its most enthusiastic support to the

03:09This is the best opportunity for the investors from China to understand our latest policy.
03:15And the Minister himself, Tengku Zafru, will give an overall review as well as to announce
03:26the latest policy with regard to the foreign, the FDI, at the same time explaining to the
03:33investors which are the most favorite and welcome interest into Malaysia.
03:39So I think we have a slot especially for Tengku Zafru to explain to everyone.
03:46And besides the Singapore Johor, the Special Economic Zone, as well as the MM2H policy,
03:53we will get the relevant person, the officers, to explain and to set up their booth here.
04:00And at the same time, any investors from overseas, they can just make enquiry and we will provide
04:07the best services to all of you. So nobody, even our Deputy Prime Minister, is in charge of energy.
04:14So if you have any problem regarding the energy transition and what not, and you need to know
04:20about the solar and the renewable energy, we have our Deputy Prime Minister as the guest of honour
04:28to officiate this World Association President's Conference.
04:33So I welcome all of you on the 2nd of December. Thank you.
04:37Our Deputy Prime Minister gives full support to this program and he has already accepted
04:47to be appointed as the advisor of this 5th World Association President's Conference.
04:52And he also would like to participate and that's why in conjunction with the 50th
05:00bilateral relationship between the two countries, we will host a dinner here to commemorate
05:07the bilateral between Malaysia and China. So that shows the importance of this event
05:13and this, I believe, will be the biggest dinner ever for a few hundred Chinese investors
05:22to come to Malaysia. At the same time, we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of
05:27Malaysia-China bilateral relations. I think this is very significant and I welcome our guests from China.
