00:00Well the way this role pushes me as an actor is definitely an evolution of
00:03everything I've done up to this point. You'll see that when you watch the show
00:07and that I'm pushed emotionally, I'm pushed physically, I'm pushed
00:11psychologically and the audience that we're carrying with this, the
00:15conversation we're allowed to have with them through this narrative is truly an
00:20exploration of culture, love and people really defining who they are for
00:29themselves and I love that.
00:43The costume is a reflection of how the man walks, talks and thinks. It's simple, it's
00:47clean, it's elegant and when he steps out you need to know exactly that about him
00:52before he even opens his mouth.
00:56I feel like the wardrobe not only represents the man, Alex Cross, but it
00:59represents where he's from. You know this show shows DC in a wholly different way
01:03and when you see that thick old overcoat you know exactly you're on the East
01:07Coast, it's cold but it's got a flavor, it's got a feel, it's got DC.
01:12We helped bridge the gap where he is a man, he's a black man, he's also a
01:18detective, you know, and he stands by his commitment, his morality to serve not
01:25only his idea of justice but do it the right way, serving his people.
01:31Everything I've experienced up to now from trying to find my own value as a black man
01:38living in this country to trying to approximate my relationship with local
01:42justice to being a father and you know seeing what that teaches me about life
01:46and how much I love my daughter and how much Cross loves his kids, you know, every
01:50single element that is me is pouring into Cross.
