00:00Today we've recovered a body in connection with a search for missing 34
00:04year old Victoria Taylor. The police underwater search team made the
00:08discovery at 11.45 a.m. this morning in the River Derwent close to where
00:12Victoria's belongings were recovered. Formal identification is yet to take
00:16place however Victoria's family have been informed of this development and
00:20they're understandably they are distressed by today's news. Our
00:24specialist family liaison officers will continue to support them. Victoria who is
00:29from Norton near Malton was reported missing on Tuesday October the 1st.
00:33Since the initial report was received we have carried out extensive searches to
00:38try to locate Victoria. The scale of investigation undertaken by North Yorkshire
00:43Police has provided us with a detailed understanding of Victoria's key
00:47movements within the time parameters of the disappearance. As part of our
00:52strategy we issued multiple appeals to the public and the media for information
00:57and I would personally like to thank all of those members of the public who
01:01have responded and assisted us with our inquiries. The disappearance of Victoria
01:06has understandably had a wider impact on the local communities of both Malton and
01:10Norton. Those closest to Victoria have felt an enormous amount of heartache in
01:16the days after she went missing and have acknowledged how grateful they are for
01:20the overwhelming support from the local community. Whilst today's outcome is not
01:24what anyone would have wished for, Victoria's family have asked me to say
01:29that they are devastated and they would like some time and space to be able to
01:32process the news and grieve as a family and I would refer to remain with them at
01:37this time.
