Nigel Farage has responded to the allegations of election interference made by Republican candidate Donald Trump against the Labour party. The former president's campaign accused Labour of “blatant foreign interference” after volunteers travelled to the US to help campaign for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. The Reform UK leader said: "What was very clear from the advert that went out from the Labour party - there was no mention of paying your own way in terms of air fares and it was explicit that accommodation would be free." Mr Farage added that "there was little doubt that the Democrats were in breach of the law." Report by Kennedyl. 00:00Foreign nationals can go to America, campaign, speak, give opinions, that's all within the rules.
00:07But not if they're being provided money to do it. They have to do it off their own back.
00:13And what was very clear from the advert that went out from the Labour Party,
00:17there was no mention of paying your own way in terms of airfares.
00:21It was explicit that accommodation would be free.
00:25Many of those that were going would have been on the Labour Party's payroll.
00:29And I think for those reasons, on the face of it, under the Federal Electoral Commission rules,
00:35I think there's little doubt that the Democrats are in breach of the law.
00:39Now look, it's all well and good for Labour now to backtrack.
00:41Oh, they're going in their own time. But that's not what the advert said.
