A Shropshire Community Pub has made it into the Good Beer Guide 2025!

00:00My name is Gareth Penny, I'm the General Manager of the Mill at Leighton. We're a community

00:16run pub on a lease with the local estate. It's people within the community didn't want

00:22their local pub to close after COVID and we reopened after COVID. We've got five real

00:31ales on and over the last four years, this is our first time we've been able to achieve

00:38the good beer guide through camera, which is really a good achievement for the pub.

00:45So we're doing a celebration with a local brewery tonight, Envil, and they're coming

00:51down to do a talk on our beers here at the Mill. It's a national book, so we're under

00:59Talbot & East, so they do spot checks and they come out, sometimes there's a group or

01:07it could be an individual, and they do a report back on the quality of the beer, consistency

01:13and how the staff are making sure it's even into the right glass. For us to be able to

01:21get in the book this year is a real good achievement for the pub.
