00:00DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian assured that the government has enough funds to provide financial assistance to the victims of the Christine earthquake.

00:09At the same time, the government is also ensuring that the government is prepared in case another disaster comes to the country.

00:32In a previous briefing, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian said that even before the earthquake hit the country,

00:39FFPs were already pre-positioned in affected areas.

00:44It is proven that 121,000 FFPs are on the ground now, particularly in Bicol, and they are continuing their distribution.

00:52Although there is still sufficient supply of FFPs there,

00:55the additional 100,000 family food packs are already en route to Bicol.

01:00That is why it is very likely that the affected residents will receive help.

01:07Before we felt the effects of the Christine earthquake,

01:11our national stockpile, the family food packs that are distributed in all of our warehouses across the country,

01:19was less than 2 million pieces.

01:26we have 1.982600 million family food packs.

01:32It was reduced from yesterday until now because we are already releasing it.

01:36So, we're all ready.

01:37In fact, I talked to Mayor Legasion yesterday.

01:44I also talked to our Acting Governor of Albay, Vice Governor Glenda.

01:48And our assurance to them is that although they are the first line of defense, the local government units,

01:54the national government is ready to augment or increase their supply.

02:00Although the Christine earthquake is still in the country,

02:05the DSWD is already planning to provide assistance to the affected residents.

02:10This includes the distribution of financial aid and the repair of damaged houses with the help of DSUN.

02:16The DSWD is also ready in case the Philippine Area of Responsibility is facing a bad time in Mindanao.

02:23The OCD is already on red alert for quick action against the earthquake.

02:28Rubber boats are also being planted in Bicol, particularly in Naga.

02:36As we speak, Secretary Teodoro is already collecting the commitments through the J3.

02:42In fact, I already saw the list of equipment.

02:47We also have 17 air assets that are prepositioned in Villamore and Cebu,

02:55which are readily deployable, weather permitting,

02:58because we have to be sure that our pilots, our assets are safe.
