00:00Sunland Festival of Light is back here at Mowbray Park it's the preview evening tonight we've come
00:05to have a look we'll be talking to some of the people involved about what's on offer while we're
00:11here and taking a look around for ourselves. I think it's absolutely spectacular walking around
00:16the park this evening and I think there's just such variety and the kind of the lighting is
00:25just absolutely phenomenal such a buzz and ambience in the park so I've been talking to
00:30families this evening some it's their first time here some who've returned for many years
00:37and there's such excitement and I think there's something for everybody being nine months old
00:42nine years old or 90. The reason for the move is when it's in Rougar Park there's lots of road
00:47closures there's lots of residential properties around Rougar Park bringing it into the city
00:52centre means that the road's not closed you're also a five minute walk from the city centre so
00:57people can have food you can do a little bit Christmas shopping you can see the changes
01:01that's happening within Sunland and then come into Mowbray Park where it's just one big area
01:06to come into increase the footfall like say there'll be people go and visit the beautiful
01:11restaurants that's opening now we've got the shows happening within the fire station empire
01:16and it'll definitely increase footfall so if you want to go for a nice drive along the seafront
01:21and see again the changes that's happening on the seafront you can still see some of the lights
01:26down there as well. Well I'm creating surrealistic animations and all of my works are in some way
01:36dreamy trips through emotions and I call this work Mirror. So it's called Eiffel it's inspired by
01:46you know like the deep root level of trees and interconnected network underground and it's
01:52about showing like the invisible energy and network in nature so it's a projection
01:58mapping on vegetation so there is no screen it's directly on the trees and it's about
02:04like showing nature in a more magical way and trying to reconnect with nature
02:10yeah with something invisible making something invisible visible and add a little magic to the
02:16to the park. So the show itself we have a evening this evening for children younger people with
02:23special educational needs and their families to come along but the show the festival itself
02:29actually opens on the 25th of October and runs through till the 24th of November.
02:35During half term it will be open every day but out with that it will be open Thursday, Friday,
02:41Saturday, Sundays with the exception of Remembrance Sunday. It will open from 4.30am
02:48and for the first hour it is a quiet hour. Tickets can be bought online from www.mysunderland.co.uk
