Petition signed for launch of Intl People's Tribunal

Protesters, led by the Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD), sign a petition at the University of the Philippines Diliman Film center in Quezon City on Oct. 26, 2024, for the launch of the International Peoples’ Tribunal (IPT). The tribunal, overseen by a panel of international economists, lawyers, and academicians, aims to hold the IMF and World Bank accountable for allegedly fostering inequality and poverty in the global south. This first session in the Philippines will be followed by others in Nepal, India, Africa, and Latin America.
