Early issues plagued the No. 5 team, but Kyle Larson leaves Homestead-Miami Speedway with a 13th-place finish to leave him below the playoff cutline heading into Martinsville.

00:00Well, it was obviously a hard-fought day for the 5 of Kyle Larson because the rebound was
00:04incredible for you guys, but obviously we saw the 3 wide between the 12 and the 3.
00:09What did you feel inside the race car when that happened?
00:10Yeah, I mean, you're making split-second decisions, and I was hoping, you know, that Austin, he
00:18did nothing wrong, by the way.
00:19I was just hoping that he would see me coming as the 12 got to his inside, and maybe he'd
00:24run a lane off the wall just to give me some clean air, and he continued to run his line,
00:29and I had a little bit of a hole, and I was just trying to shoot the gap to get in front
00:35of the 3 and get to the wall quickly to either hopefully stay outside the 12 or build a run
00:40to have a run for him in 1 and 2, but yeah, it just didn't work out, so I was going as
00:47hard as I could.
00:48Yeah, we did a great job rebounding after the flat, and yeah, so car didn't drive good,
00:56but we were able to carry it there for a while, and it was really good on long runs.
01:01Next week we head to Martinsville.
01:02How do you feel about next Sunday?
01:04Yeah, I mean, we've been strong at Martinsville at times, so yeah, we'll see.
01:10It's not my best track, but we've been a lot better there since I joined Hendricks, so
01:15just qualify well, hopefully, and, you know, give it our best shot.
01:20Thanks, Kyle.
01:21Thanks.
