Roberts hopeful Ohtani injury isn't serious, Boone remains positive despite losses
Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani suffered what manager Dave Roberts called a partial dislocation of his left shoulder during Game 2 of the World Series on Saturday (October 26) night and his status for Game 3 or beyond is unknown.
Speaking with reporters after his team's 4-2 victory over the visiting New York Yankees to take a 2-0 series lead, Roberts said of Ohtani, "he had a little left shoulder subluxation so we're going to get some tests tonight or tomorrow and then we'll know more in the next couple days. But the strength was great, the range of motion good, so we're encouraged."
"Once we get the scans, we'll know more," Roberts added.

00:00He had a little left shoulder subluxation but everything, so we're going to get some
00:08tests at some point tonight, tomorrow, and then we'll know more in the next couple days.
00:15But the strength was great, the range of motion good, so we're encouraged.
00:22But obviously I can't speculate because we don't get the scans yet.
00:26So once we get the scans we'll know more.
00:27But again, with the strength and range of motion good, that's certainly a positive.
00:31So Tao's homer obviously was huge.
00:33I thought he just missed clipping him earlier and got a fastball belt line and really put
00:39a great swing on it.
00:40And then Freddy, I mean, that was, you know, it's one thing to turn around 92, but 97 up
00:46and in, that's a different monster.
00:49And he just took a really good swing and I think it's, yeah, I mean, he's just big, big.
00:55We needed it, clearly.
00:56Before we really got shut down there in the middle innings, you know, our compete to the
01:01very end was really good.
01:02We gave ourselves a chance to get right back in it and even win that game, you know, off
01:07a really good reliever.
01:08So I love the at-bats there in the end, the compete, the fight.
01:13I thought even Trevi got off a good swing off Vessia.
01:17So we just got it, you know, no one said it's going to be easy.
01:20It's a long series and we need to make it a long series now.
01:24But, you know, we won't flinch.
01:28We just got to keep at it.
