00:00Dale Cloweth, community outreach Minister for our sports club is very, very important,
00:04but also how they link with community health as well.
00:07What we have across Wales is an obesity epidemic, and I think sport can play a huge role in
00:13actually addressing the obesity crisis, which we do have across Wales.
00:16So what I'm interested to learn, Minister, is what are you going to do to have better
00:20links with health to make sure that our sports clubs can play their role in ending obesity
00:25across Wales, and what time frames can we see of when implementation of this is going
00:30to happen, and when are we going to see the outcomes of the work that Government is doing?
00:34Carwyn Jones AM Thank you, James Evans, for that.
00:37I know, again, the Member in particular has a real passionate interest around the role

01:15I think it's a conversation that the Health Secretary and I, with his Deputy Ministers
01:20as well, will have further conversations on about what that looks like going forward.
01:25But just to point to the WRUs and the IRVs programme, their Fit, Fed and Fun programme
01:31that takes part during the school holidays, that doesn't just help battle loneliness and
01:39isolation, but it very much does all of the things James Evans wishes sport to do in terms
01:45of getting people fit, getting people healthy.
01:48I'm very committed to making sure anyone who wants to access sport in Wales can do so in
01:55whatever sport that may be, at whatever level, to make sure that we do have a healthy nation
02:01going forward.
