Jon Stewart is sticking with 'The Daily Show.' Comedy Central announced that Stewart has signed an extension that will keep him as a once-a-week host and full-time executive producer of 'The Daily Show' through December 2025. The news comes just over nine months after Stewart made a deal to return to the show that he hosted from 1998 to 2015.

00:23The news comes just over nine months after Stewart made a deal to return to the show
00:27that he hosted from 1998 to 2015. That initial deal had Stewart hosting the show once a week,
00:33usually on Monday nights, through the presidential election.
00:36With Election Day looming and Stewart set to host a live, hour-long special on November 5,
00:41the extension will keep Stewart on The Daily Show through the first year of the next president's
00:45term. Stewart said in a statement,
00:47I've truly enjoyed being back working with the incredible team at The Daily Show and Comedy
00:51Central. I was really hoping they'd allow me to do every other Monday, but I'll just have
00:55to suck it up. The Daily Show won its second straight Emmy for Best Talk Series in September,
01:00and ratings have improved substantially since Stewart's return in February.
