00:00Comelec is lowering the threshold of shading balotas in the election of 2025.

00:05This means that as long as you shade balotas up to 15% of the total vote,

00:11your votes will still be destroyed by the machine.

00:14Sandra Aguinaldo has the final say.

00:16Some automated elections also teach voters how to properly shade balotas.

00:30In the past elections, if the shading is not enough,

00:34the machine may not be able to read and count the votes.

00:37But for the election of 2025,

00:40Comelec Unbank has approved machines that can read balotas up to 15% of the total vote.

00:49This means that the balotas will be counted.

00:51The voters' preferences should be followed.

00:55Because if the balotas are counted,

00:59there will be no doubt that other candidates will not win

01:04so they can file a protest.

01:05In the past, we reached 50%.

01:07In the 2022 election, our threshold is 25%.
