Martin Dempster at Challenge Tour Grand Final in Mallorca
Transcript
00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here, coming to you from
00:09Club de Golf Alcanada, which sits in the north of Mallorca and is the venue for this week's
00:17Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final. It's a season finale on the Challenge Tour, the DP World
00:24Tour's feeder circuit, and 20 main tour cards are up for grabs in the 72-hole event. We've
00:36got two Scots in the field, Ewan Walker, he starts out in 24th position, with Daniel Young
00:43just three places below, meaning that they've got a good chance of having something to celebrate
00:50on Sunday night, and the great thing about this event is that all 46 players who start out have
00:57a chance of securing a DP World Tour card. The field also includes Hamish Brown, who certainly
01:06sounds Scottish, but in fact is a Dane. His father, Marcus, was a professional in Perthshire
01:15before moving to Denmark, and Hamish, having taken up the game on the back of that connection,
01:22has been one of the stars this season. He's won twice and starts out in third place in the Road
01:31to Mallorca rankings. There'll be celebration, there'll be some tears of disappointment too,
01:37come Sunday night, but as always it's one of those great weeks in the season with so much
01:45at stake. Keep up to date with the Challenge Tour Grand Final on Scotsman.com or buying the Scotsman.
