00:00Be prepared for everything, you know, if I play guard, if I play center, and shoot,
00:05they might even put me on tight end, and I'm going to go out and do the best I can.
00:09But, you know, getting those reps and getting that cohesion with the offensive guard, I think it's huge.
00:15You got good hands if they need you in tight end?
00:17I have good hands. I have good hands. I had to pick six in high school.
00:20I had to pick six in high school.
00:22Is that where the snapping comes from? The spiking?
00:25With the spiking? No. I think it just won't spike in. I don't know.
00:30Just having fun.
00:32How different is the level of communication when you're in the center position as opposed to playing guard?
00:37Is it pretty much the same?
00:39I think you have to have a lot more communication just because the center has more responsibility.
00:43It has to read the defense and has to command the line.
00:46So, you know, just continuing to learn and continuing to build.
00:49And, you know, as I said, build cohesion with the guard and the offense.
00:54As a rookie, how much more difficult is that for you when you come into a center
00:58and you suddenly take that leadership role on that line?
01:01I mean, it's tough, but I got great guys around me.
01:04You know, I got the whole line that's pushing for me and wanting me to be great.
01:08So, you know, those guys waving to me and helping me too, it makes it easy.
01:12When you go into a situation where, you know, you're kind of dead in the water,
01:16then, you know, it's really hard, but I'm blessed to have a lot of great people around me.
01:20I heard you took some snaps today. How did you feel?
01:23I felt good. You know, I've been taking a lot of snaps since I've been here,
01:27so definitely a learning curve.
01:29And I've got to get kind of on the bike again and start riding the tricycle again.
01:33But, you know, I'm just going to continue to try to get better and get 1% better every day.
01:37Were there some nerves with the first snap or two when you get thrown in there to slide over the center?
01:41What was that like?
01:42No, I just knew my preparation and I just, you know, went into the mode of, you know,
01:46what I did in college and just gave it 100%.
01:49If I give it 100% and, you know, do the best I can do, I've got to let the chips fall over the bank.
01:54How much does your college career kind of prepare you for that?
01:56Because I know you played all over the offensive line when you were at Oregon.
02:00No, it helped me out a ton.
02:02As I said, you know, back in my day, I used to play center.
02:05Way back when.
02:07Way back when, but, you know, continuing to, you know, just lean on that
02:11and lean on the preparation I had there.
02:13And definitely helping, you know, getting back in the swing of things
02:16because you have to do that every year.
02:18There's a little bit of a break and then you've got to start snapping again.
02:20There's a little bit of, you know, hiccups, but you're going to get it down.
02:23You've just got to, you know, keep going.
02:25JPJ, what would you say is your secret to staying so positive
02:28and engaged in every one of those plays for your team?
02:31Just the love of my guys and the love of, you know, football.
02:34Just continuing to do that and, you know, stay enthusiastic and have fun.
02:38I think that's how football should be played is having fun.
02:42What's something that, you know, if you could share some of, like, the best advice
02:45or the great advice a guy like Colton Miller has given you?
02:48Kind of a stalwart of the online for the last couple of years.
02:51I mean, he always just tells me to just be me and just do what I do, you know.
02:55I got here for a reason and I'm here for a reason.
02:57And I just got to execute and do, you know, what I've, you know, been brought here to do.
03:02Halloween is tomorrow. What are your plans and what's your costume?
03:05So I had a couple of ideas.
03:08I may be sloth from the Guineas, but I'm going Chris Foley van down by the river tomorrow.
03:16I'm going to go with that, you know.
03:19So, yeah, I'm going to go with that.
03:21Very nice.
03:23And just last one for me, man.
03:24What kind of, like, camaraderie have you built, you know, with fellow rookie DJ Glaze?
03:28You guys work in the offensive line a lot together this year.
03:31Yeah, so DJ and I were, you know, roomed up together in, you know, OTAs
03:35and rookie minicamps, so definitely we have a lot of time together.
03:40So being able to be with DJ and, you know, joke around with him, you know,
03:43my ducks have this terror pains in a week and a half.
03:46So, you know, just talk a little crap about that.
03:49You know, I think we get along really well and, you know, have a lot of fun.
03:53And also just how have you felt with, you know, Raider fans, Raider Nation, as they call it,
03:58just really taking to you kind of immediately and showing you a lot of love?
04:02I mean, definitely blessed.
04:03I think it's really cool for my parents to see and all my family to see.
04:07So I think it's cool for them to look at that, and I really appreciate the love,
04:10but just kind of focused on what's inside these walls.
04:13Thanks, guys.
