00:00And at this point, we will discuss the updates on the programs of the current administration, here in Mr. President on the Go.

00:23First of all, fellow countrymen, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the grand opening ceremony of the MERSC Optimus Distribution Center in Calambas City, Laguna.

00:35The MERSC Optimus Distribution Center in Calambas City, Laguna is one of the largest logistics centers in the country.

00:45This is still a part of the commitment of our government, especially the private sector, which is the most powerful logistics sector in our country.

00:55It is expected to provide jobs to at least 1,000 workers within the first two years.

01:02It will also greatly help small and medium enterprises or SME vendors and will create indirect employment for the 1,000 individuals.

01:14Its value is estimated to reach Php 4.8 billion. It has state-of-the-art technology and is expected to provide services to Calabarzon, Calabarzon region and nearby areas.

01:27MERSC is a global company that has a contract logistics presence around the world.

01:32The Philippines is its third largest market.

01:35According to the company, this is a reflection of the Philippines growing at a very dynamic market.

02:12Therefore, for seamless flow of commerce, the effective logistics system is very important.

02:18With the opening of the distribution center in Calambas City,

02:22the import and export activities in Southern Luzon, particularly Bicol and Calabarzon, will be strengthened.

02:29This is because it is near Batangasport.

02:32According to President Marcos Jr., the strategic location in Calamba supports the government's plans to decongest Manila

02:40and unlock the economic potential in the provinces or countryside.
