00:22President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured that there will be no power interruption to the so-called critical facilities during calamities.

00:29The Chief Executive's directive to Energy Secretary Rafael Otilia is that the operation of facilities such as hospitals should not be affected.

00:39Aside from hospitals, the President also wants the operation of government offices to remain uninterrupted,

00:45particularly those of local governments.

00:48This is especially important for those who are experiencing bad weather.

00:53This is why it is important, the Chief Executive said, that there will be no power interruption to the so-called critical facilities.

01:00The critical facilities of course are government services, the hospitals, the offices so that the LGUs can at least operate to an extent.

01:14Meanwhile, the President also emphasized the importance of communication.

01:17In times like this, we need to know the needs, the steps that should be taken to help the victims of calamities.

01:24So for President Marcos, we should look at the possibility of using satellite phones,

01:30especially in times like this where we are experiencing storms.

01:37is that it usually arises during bad weather, and as much as possible, it should not be interrupted,

01:43especially since it plays a major role in the movement of the government whenever there is calamity.

01:47According to the President, there are usually satellite phones used by the local government,

01:52but this is no longer the case, according to DILG Secretary John V. Cremulia.

01:57Because of this, according to the Chief Executive, the steps that should be given to the mayors may be considered.
