00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ordered various agencies of the government to immediately address the effects of the León storm.
00:09Among the severe impacts, the Batanes flood, which is rising due to the taste of the Hulian storm.
00:16Here is the national news of Kenneth Paciente.
00:19The León storm hit Batanes.
00:29At the Batanes Police Provincial Office, around 2 a.m. earlier, the heavy rain and wind gusts were seen.
00:37The waves were also high in some coastal areas there.
00:40Because of the wind gusts, some trees almost fell.
00:44Also because of the León storm, the oldest church in the town of Itbayat, the Santa Maria de Mayan Church, was burned down.
00:51In the middle of the León storm, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. declared the whole-of-government approach to the calamity.
00:58According to the President, the government is working hard to address the effects of the storm.
01:03Although the resources are affected according to the President due to the upcoming storm,
01:08he believes that the assets of the country are sufficient to avoid the most severe effects of the storm.
01:12And the rapid recovery of the affected individuals is more likely, as well as the repair of the left-behind buildings.
01:18The Chief Executive also emphasized that there is no way to provide assistance and recovery efforts for those affected by the León and Christine storms.
01:26In addition to the President, all branches of the government remain alert and ready to provide assistance at any time.
01:33The DSWD Region 2 continues to provide assistance to the families currently staying in evacuation centers.
01:40In fact, the FFPs and sleeping kits for the affected individuals have already started to be distributed.
01:46The families living in areas affected by the disaster, such as landslides, are also continuing to be evacuated.
01:54The DRRMC is working hard to clean the roads from the rocks and soil that were damaged due to the landslide.
02:01Meanwhile, the government has allocated P895.658 million for assistance to those affected by the León and Christine storms.
02:11According to the NDRRMC, this allocation includes food and non-food items from the DSWD, OCD, and local governments.
02:19The same goes for those provided by various non-government organizations.
