00:25Divdibon is a type of ritual that is performed to show respect to the Yumao in Ifugao.

00:31According to the Mumbaki, Pablo Quimayo,

00:33when the bones are cleaned and dried, the Yumao will be wrapped in ethnic attire.

00:39Then, the Yumao will be placed in a corner to be ventilated while performing the ritual

00:45before being taken to their final destination in Bandang Hapon.

00:49The family of a pig also performs a ritual to show respect to the Yumao.

00:53Quimayo explains,

00:55this is done so that the Yumao will be quiet and will not hurt their family members.

01:01It is also used to treat diseases that affect the health of the family

01:05that cannot be treated in hospitals.

01:19This tradition will be passed down to every generation.

01:23The message is to show respect and to remember our loved ones who have passed away.

01:31The authorities are trying to preserve these cultures according to the changing times.

01:39We do not really preserve but we integrate, we inculturate.

01:43Our culture is being integrated in our faith.
