00:00If you are anything like me, you are bringing home Catholic souvenirs from any of your trips.
00:08If you have things like this that you've purchased on your travels, any pilgrimages, things like
00:12that, crucifixes, icons, holy water fonts, bottles of holy water, and you've been wondering
00:18what you could do with them, this is for you.
00:21You should try making a home altar.
00:23I have a lot of friends who also refer to it as a prayer corner in their home, and it
00:27doesn't have to be anything fancy, just a designated area in your home, a space where
00:32you're able to put these sacred images and objects, and have it be a quiet place for
00:36prayer.
00:37We have a really great article on this exact topic on Alatea, and it's a great resource
00:41to learn more.
00:42But if it sounds like this is something that you might want to do and you don't know where
00:45to get started, here you go.
00:47Find a place in your home where you can put up a few sacred images, or at least a crucifix.
00:52You can place a candle next to the images.
00:55You also want to keep all of your resources for prayer there, so the Bible, the catechism,
01:00maybe Christian prayer liturgy of the hours, a journal, rosary.
01:04Something I've seen that I really like is when people have a notepad out and they write
01:07down their monthly intentions, or any type of intercessory prayer.
01:11Again, a prayer corner, a prayer altar, home altar, it doesn't have to be anything crazy.
01:15It can just be these simple objects that you probably already have in your home.
01:19So if this has inspired you and you decide to make a home altar, please send us a picture,
01:25tag Alatea, let us know what it looks like.
