00:00As of me saying these words, a lot of people have worked for AEW.
00:04This sends the internet into meltdown because for some reason some folk can't handle individuals
00:09getting a job, but we just ignore about that and we do the positive thumb of love.
00:14All Elite Wrestling has been around for a few years now though, to the point now when
00:18you bring up certain wrestlers and you tell some other fan they look at you like that
00:23can't possibly be true because it doesn't make any sense.
00:26But yes, that is what we're going to talk about today, so hello, my name is Simon Miller,
00:30welcome to What Culture Wrestling, please hit the subscribe button and like and do all
00:33that kind of craziness, and this is 10 Wrestlers You Totally Forgot Worked For AEW.
00:3810.
00:39Gigi Dolan
00:40Right now, Gigi Dolan is a top act over in NXT 2.0.
00:44I mean, not only is she a tag team champion, as of me saying these words, but she is in
00:48the dominant group Toxic Attraction, and if you are familiar with her work, you know she
00:53can go.
00:54Now, while she was never properly signed to AEW, she did appear there under her name
00:58Priscilla Kelly, where she took on Britt Baker when AEW was on Chris Jericho's boat.
01:04Now, she did lose to Britt Baker here, and after the fact, everybody was talking about
01:08the fact that Baker had turned heel after she had gone, ha ha, Tony Schiavone, you nothing
01:12but a barista, but the fact is a fact.
01:14The thing is, given that she is so young, there's every single chance that one day
01:18she may return to AEW, I mean, I doubt they would talk about that, but I'm just throwing
01:24this out there.
01:259.
01:26Diamond Dallas Page
01:27This almost feels like we dreamt it today, but yes, a couple of years ago, DDP did indeed
01:33appear in AEW.
01:34He first popped up on the 23rd October 2019 episode of Dynamite to help Cody Rhodes, who
01:40at the time was entangled in a wicked web with the Inner Circle.
01:44Given how close he was to Dusty Rhodes, this made perfect sense about why he would help
01:47his son, and then he came back to All Elite Wrestling when MJF won the first ever Diamond
01:52Ring in order to give him the piece of jewellery.
01:55However, that did not go very well, so if you can believe it, he actually entered a
02:01match where he took on Maxwell Jacob Friedman, the Butcher and the Blade.
02:05This happened at Bash at the Beach as he teamed up with QT Marshall and Dustin Rhodes, and
02:09obviously they did lose, but we still got to see one last Diamond Cutter, and I'm not
02:14going to pretend otherwise, I popped crazy for this, because who doesn't love DDP?
02:198.
02:20Cameron
02:21AEW was so out of nowhere, maybe it was brought forward by the fact that we were in the middle
02:25of a global pandemic so AEW felt like they should continue to throw new ideas at the
02:29wall, but we did have this Women's Tag Team Cup thing on YouTube, and yes, on one of the
02:35teams was Cameron.
02:37She teamed with Nyla Rose under her real name, Ariana Andrew, and the former Funktadactyl
02:42actually did have a little bit of a story here, because Nyla was like, I want to team
02:46with her, she's probably going to make me lose.
02:48Since then, Ariana too has also returned to WWE in the Raw Rumble.
02:53This is pretty good, because she essentially became a meme for a while, because if you
02:57remember her first taste of wrestling was in Tough Enough, where she towed Stone Cold
03:01Steve Austin, her favourite match ever was Melina vs Alicia Fox.
03:06Steve Austin then broke down, and I tell you, it was a great time to be alive.
03:117.
03:12Kalisto
03:13When FTR were future with the Lucha Brothers, they decided it would be really funny if they
03:16started dressing up as luchadors and kind of doing the lucha style, as ever when it
03:21comes to cash and dax, they took all of this and smashed it.
03:24To try and further this too, Tony Starr booked them against Aerostar and Samurai Del Sol
03:29on November 2021 episode of Dynamite, which meant yes, here was Kalisto from WWE walking
03:36towards an AEW ring.
03:37As it turned out, this would be a one and done, because even though he did fine when
03:40it came to wrestling, there was a lot of controversy on social media beforehand, it certainly
03:46felt like he pissed the wrong people off, so if I was a betting man, which I'm not because
03:50you should use your money wisely, I don't think we're going to see him back.
03:556.
03:56Colin Delaney
03:57Colin Delaney is essentially the modern day Barry Horowitz.
03:59If you don't know who Horowitz is, just jump back to the 80s or 90s and you will see him
04:04in squash match after squash match after squash match.
04:06Now he's always the guy being beaten, but for some reason he just did it so well, he
04:11patted himself on the back.
04:13I love Baz.
04:14Colin had this role in WWECW as well as a ton of other promotions and basically became
04:19one of the guys you wanted to reach out to if you just needed to bring somebody in to
04:23have a decent match, hence why eventually AEW went, well we can do that too.
04:28This saw him have losing efforts against the likes of Eddie Kingston and Wardlow, and he
04:31even teamed with Sean Spears as Spears was doing his whole, oh my gosh I need to find
04:36a tag team partner.
04:37And as ever this was really entertaining, because it was essentially the Chairman just
04:41yelling at Colin like he was a piece of trash.
04:43The roster has grown so much I don't think we'll see Colin back anytime soon, but when
04:47you do go over his career, given that not everybody can be a world champion, well ironically
04:53we should give him a pat on the back.
04:555.
04:56Crowbar
04:57Go back and watch WCW from the year 2000s and you will realise this is an absolutely
05:01dreadful wrestling product and it's no surprise that it died.
05:05However, there were a few spotlights in the darkness, one of which was Crowbar along with
05:10Daphne who did their very best to try and be entertaining.
05:14After WCW was gone, Crowbar did go on to appear in TNA and some other indies for a while,
05:18so in 2021 someone from AEW thought, well why don't we bring him in, and they did.
05:24Having a match against Joey Janela on Dark, of course he did lose, but much as he did
05:2820 or so years ago, he came in and he just did the best job possible.
05:33We never saw him again, but if you are into wrestling trivia, especially how long somebody
05:36took a gap between major promotions, well you should probably put Crowbar down on that
05:41list because I bet he features.
05:434.
05:44ODB
05:45I have watched pretty much everything that AEW has done, but even I forgot that ODP had
05:49an appearance.
05:50My word, we've done a lot in three years.
05:53Mostly known for her time in TNA, she probably would have got a gig with WWE at some point
05:57if her act hadn't been distinctly non-PG, however because she was a recognisable name,
06:02eventually AEW gave her a shot.
06:04She entered the Casino Battle Royal all the way back in 2019, mostly because we have to
06:09have a few surprises here.
06:11It's like the Royal Rumble, think how many times you've watched that and you don't
06:14get any shock because you feel like a sad panda, so this was a way to make you feel
06:18like a happy bear.
06:19After a brief stare down with Nyla Rose because they're both beasts, she was able to help
06:22eliminate Awesome Kong before Britt Baker got rid of her.
06:26Now was it.
06:27Draw a line under it, she was gone.
06:293.
06:30Tully Blanchard
06:31Yes, Tully Blanchard has featured in AEW a lot.
06:33He was the long term manager of FDR before they turned face, and he basically did a really
06:39good job.
06:40One thing you may have forgotten though, because so much was happening, is that this veteran
06:44of the wrestling scene actually had a match.
06:46Forget the fact that he was 67 years old at the time, Tully did indeed team up with his
06:51boys Cash and Dax in order to take on Luchasaurus, Jungle Boy and Marco Stunt, and by the time
06:56he was doing his classic slingshot suplex onto Marco, everybody was gone crazy.
07:02Amazingly this was super entertaining too, FDR controlled everything as they always do,
07:07and in no universe should Tully Blanchard have been able to perform at the level he
07:12did.
07:13It's almost like he's got some skills.
07:15Dave Meltzer, he of Wrestling Observer fame, even gave this match 3 and 3 quarter stars,
07:20which means it's higher rated than The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania 18.
07:25Did I put that in there in order to flame the comments?
07:28Yes I did.
07:292.
07:30Glacier
07:31Another one I totally forgot about because I'm pretty sure I just made it up in my head.
07:35I didn't.
07:36Having the first double or nothing in the Men's Casino Battle Royale to tie in to those
07:39surprises we were talking about earlier, AEW obviously knew that their crowd was super
07:44duper hardcore and thought, who can we bring back that will absolutely get a reaction if
07:49they pick Glacier?
07:50I mean, for one he's become an internet meme recently because he took so damn long
07:54to actually debut way back when in WCW, but also he is just one massive Mortal Kombat
08:00rip-off, and even in the modern day that's just kinda cool.
08:03I mean, he did absolutely nothing in the match, but he didn't need to do anything.
08:08People just wanted to point and go, haha, it's Glacier.
08:12This one still pleases me.
08:131.
08:14Tommy Dreamer
08:15Glacier wasn't the only recognisable old school face in that match either, because
08:18do you want to know who else was in it?
08:20I mean, you already know, but it was Tommy Dreamer.
08:23The best part of all of this too, is that the winner of this Battle Royale was going
08:26to go on to the next PPV in order to fight for the world title, which meant Dreamer totally
08:32must have thought he could have won.
08:34This didn't happen obviously, and his main role was to shine a spotlight on the likes
08:37of Orange Catherine and Sonny Kiss, because they were brand new performers and AEW wanted
08:41to make sure you walked away going, I should think about them more.
08:44Tommy was soon gone, and obviously following controversies makes this a little less fun,
08:48but a fact is a fact and a fact is a fact, so has Tommy Dreamer appeared in AEW?
08:53Yes.
08:54Yes he has.
08:55Know of any other wrestlers that we all totally forgot appeared for All Elite Wrestling?
