00:00The 2025 proposed national budget will be the focus of the plenary debates of the Senate in the coming weeks.

00:07They will discuss the funds of flood control projects and the excess funds of PhilHealth.

00:14We have first news from Ma'am Gonzalez.

00:20The funds for the flood control projects and for PhilHealth, which said they have a 500 billion pesos excess fund this year,

00:27will be the focus of the Senate in their plenary debate for the more than 6 trillion pesos proposed 2025 national budget.

00:36It's a waste if we add PhilHealth's fund, they won't use it.

00:40With 4% inflation, it means that PhilHealth loses 20 billion pesos every year.

00:48They don't provide services to our countrymen because they don't spend the money.

00:55According to Senate President Cheese Escudero, the priority of the Senate is to discuss the budget.

01:00The session will be held from Monday to Thursday so that it can be completed immediately.

01:04Usually, the budget debates of the Congress will be held in the afternoon and sometimes in the morning.

01:09That's why the Senate President said that there will be no investigations while the budget is being discussed.

01:14I think we will exempt one or two because we are pursuing a particular issue.

01:29Escudero added that the fund of the Office of the Vice President may be reduced.

01:34But that depends on Senator Grace Poe, chair of the Senate Finance Committee.

01:38Vice President Sara Duterte also did not ask for a confidential fund.
