00:16One, Eduardo Rivera, a farmer from Palayan Nueva Ecija,

00:38When we came here, we were hoping to hear our voices.
00:44In fact, every year, when we are damaged,
00:47even if it's just P7,000 per hectare,
00:50it's a big deal for us to be able to harvest.
00:54That's why we are lucky to be able to harvest here in Nueva Ecija.
01:01The PCIC Regional Office 3A Officer-in-Charge, Girly Gregorio,
01:08said that the importance of insured farmers,
01:11aside from free or free of charge,
01:15is something they can rely on in times of calamity or pestilence for their crops.
01:22It's better for them to obtain free insurance under the RSVSA
01:28because it's free and they don't have to pay anything.
01:31No matter what, there will be a return to their expenses,
01:35even if it's not everything.
01:38The RSVSA covers up to 20,000 per hectare.
01:45Meanwhile, Gregorio continues to urge farmers in Nueva Ecija and Aurora
01:53who were affected by Hurricane Christine,
01:55that they have 20 days from the time of the quake
01:58to file for their free insurance.
02:04This can be paid by the PCIC personnel in Cabanatuan
02:09and their provincial extension offices in San Jose, Nueva Ecija and Baler, Aurora,
02:15or by their email address, PCICRO3ANL at gmail.com.
02:21From January to October of this year,
02:24the amount of indemnity checks issued by the PCIC
02:27amounted to more than Php 49.6 million
02:31for more than 4,000 farmers who were affected by the quake
02:36in Nueva Ecija.
02:38From the Philippine Information Agency of Luzon,
02:41Camille Nagano for Balitang Pagbansa.
