00:00A female producer had me do a nude line-up with about five women who were much, much
00:10thinner than me.
00:11And we all stood side-by-side with only pastons covering our privates.
00:16After that degrading and humiliating line-up, the female producer told me I should use the
00:23naked photos of myself as inspiration for my diet.
00:28The one girl before me had already been fired for not losing enough weight fast enough.
00:50And all the other models were like playing football like in a pretty way, you know, like
00:55and not me.
00:57I was all over the photos, I've got a red face covered in sweat, my nostrils are flared.
01:08I remember that really kind of breaking my heart because it's hard to hear that you
01:12need to lose weight when you don't think that you're fat.
01:20I'm just watching like my double chin and my acne.
01:24I know, who is that bitch?
01:28Right, Jennifer Aniston is way better than Jennifer Lawrence, do you agree?
01:32Yeah, much better.
01:34Prettier, funnier.
01:36Yeah, better movies.
01:38Yeah, yeah.
01:41Because I feel like everybody hates me.
01:50I volunteer as tribute.
01:54And this is going to be their hero and we have control of that.
02:04We have the ability to control this image that young girls are going to be seeing.
02:08If girls see enough of this body that we can't imitate, that we'll never be able to obtain
02:15these unrealistic expectations.
02:17I was not going to have young girls skipping dinner because they wanted to look like Katniss.
02:24I showed Diane how to shoot archery today.
02:28And let's just say she nailed it.
02:30You have to know who you are and you have to know your worth and you have to know what's
02:33worth, what's worth it and what isn't.
02:35You know, I mean, if you're doing a physical role, I mean, when I was doing The Hunger Games,
02:38I did a lot of training.
02:39It was a really physical role and I had to be in good shape.
02:42There's a difference between getting in shape for a movie and being mentally abused and
02:47told that you're fat.
02:49I want to be the kind of person who will say that thing that's really hard to say.
02:52You know, they put values in all the things that are wrong and that it's okay to just
02:55point at people and call them ugly and call them fat and they call it fun and welcome
02:59to the real world.
03:00And it's like, that shouldn't be the real world.
03:05A hacker puts Jennifer Lopez on the internet.
03:08A hacker puts Jennifer Lopez on the internet.
03:10A hacker puts Jennifer Lopez on the internet.
03:12A hacker puts Jennifer Lopez on the internet.
03:15A hacker puts Jennifer Lawrence's naked photos online.
03:20Photos purporting to show a nude Jennifer Lawrence are making their way around the internet.
03:29It was so unbelievably violating that you can't even put into words.
03:45If I'm feeling this way in Hollywood, I can't imagine how many women across the world must
04:03be feeling that.
04:04Why don't we?
04:08It's a huge conversation for our industry certainly, but I would hope that this is only
04:12the tipping point for every industry for us to discuss equal pay for equal work for women.
04:17I decided to speak out because it was unfair and, you know, I was speaking of my experience
04:23because that's the only thing I can speak of is my job and my experience and my paycheck,
04:28you know, but there's a 21% pay difference between men and women in all sorts of fields
04:34in America.
04:40Cheers, honey.
04:41Cheers.
04:42You get me.
04:46I did feel powerless before and I left feeling empowered.
04:58I was like, I could get a salad and he said, well, if you can't get a salad, get a salad.
05:02And I said, I'm getting a Philly cheesesteak.
05:04So we had to start creating a movement.
05:07You know, we have to reshape the way that we're, that we're treated.
05:10Things that were normalized before are no longer going to be normalized.
05:25She said, I love my body because I'm, I'm the girl on fire and it made her feel strong
05:32and brave.
05:33And I just started crying because it was, she, she gave me such a gift and I'm just
05:39acting, but it made me feel like if a character or a story can make somebody change their
05:46perception on how they feel about themselves, then that is beautiful.
06:03Yeah.
