00:00This is Skoda's first vehicle in the sub 4-metre segment known as the Skoda Kaila.
00:05Launched at a starting price of Rs 7.89 lakhs, I'm going to show you guys what all this vehicle has to offer you.
00:11Now, first off, in terms of power and specifications, this gets a 1.0-litre engine, a 1.0-litre TSI engine
00:18that produces 114bhp and 178Nm of torque.
00:22Now, this engine comes mated to two gearboxes, a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.
00:28Looking at the design of this car, as you guys can see, so first off, we get all LED lighting everywhere
00:34from our main headlamp unit to our DRLs and even the mesh-type grille that we get
00:39adds just a whole lot of premiumness to this vehicle.
00:43Now, we get small head-ups located right underneath, our main grille is there and this is overall the front fascia of this vehicle.
00:51Now, moving on, we get 17-inch wheels on this, alloy wheels with all-four disc brakes
00:57and now I'm going to show you guys a little more on the design, now this is the ORVM that we get,
01:02comes with an integrated indicator, but no 360-degree camera as you can see.
01:07Apart from that, all the lines on this car are extremely subtle, nothing too bulky, nothing too hectic,
01:15it's just very simple altogether.
01:18Now, 17-inch wheels at the rear also, now coming to the interior of this car,
01:23LED lighting at the back, we get the Skoda, we get the HiLux badging right here and Skoda badging right there.
01:31Now, the Skoda badging that we get is something new, we haven't seen this on other models
01:36and this is something that Skoda has just brought in.
01:40So, this is the tail lamp, a sort of wraparound unit as you can see and it's a very, very classy piece.
01:48Now, we get this small sort of work on either side, just to bring out the whole design element of this car.
01:56Now, coming to the boot space of this, well, we get around 476 litres of boot space, that's with our rear seats up
02:03and with our rear seats folded down, our boot space extends to up to 1200 odd litres.
02:10So, this was pretty much a quick run-through of the exterior, shocks and antennas at the top,
02:16we get groupers with these on, can't be used, a very small spoiler at the back with an integrated brake light as well.
02:24Now, we get defoggers also located right here, a windscreen wiper at the rear and overall, this is how the car looks from this side as well.
02:35So, now coming to the colour options that we get, well, we get this grey colour option, we get a red option right there, as you can see
02:44and we also get a new olive gold colour option for the Kylak. Now, the olive gold is also a feature that Skoda has just brought in.
02:52Now, coming to safety features, as standard, this car gets 25 safety features and with the top-end variant, that extends up to 35 plus safety features, active and passive on the Skoda Kylak.
03:05Now, I'm going to jump into the interior and tell you guys what all the interior has to offer.
03:10So, now seated inside the Skoda Kylak, as you can see, we get very, very premium interiors on this, a very soft-touch steering wheel and let me just move the seat a little more to the rear, so you guys can see more clearly.
03:23So, this is the steering wheel, we get a very nice two-spoke steering wheel, just like we see on most Skodas, the Skoda badging located right in the centre, we have all our steering mount controls located right here for our infotainment system.
03:34So, the instrument cluster that you can see, pretty clear, pretty visible, nothing too hectic going on.
03:40Now, the AC vents, I'll show you, we get some massive AC vents located on this side, literally all over the car, we get some really broad AC vents located all over.
03:52Now, we get the Skoda badging located right here, we get some nice soft-touch interiors all over, a gear lever right here, this is a six-speed automatic variant.
04:02Now, I told you the safety features, this is the top-end variant, so we get 35 plus safety features on this, we have all our main controls located right here, we have two Type-C sockets here and all our blower controls, our basic controls here, auto start-stop.
04:16And now, coming to the storage options, well, we get a storage option located in our centre armrest, we get two cup holders here, a small storage option right here, another storage option here, which could be a wireless charger,
04:28a massive glove box right here with another small holder if you have any small items with you, apart from that, on the door frames also, we get some storage options.
04:38So, this was pretty much the interior, the seat comfort is tremendous, as you can see, perforated seats, very comfortable and the adjustment that we get is six-way adjustable on the front two seats.
04:50That was the interior, now, as you can see, we get the very nice Koda UHD right there, that is the infotainment system and this is overall the dash, then we get a very nice sunroof also, not a panoramic sunroof, just a small sunroof, however, it still is, adds to the whole appeal of the car.
05:05Now, this can also be closed and opened with, which is honestly very easy to do.
05:11Now, to open the sunroof, we have our buttons located right here, as usual and that was the whole front of the car. Now, I'll jump into the rear seat to show you how comfortable that gets.
05:22So, the driver's seat in my position, as you can see, I'm extremely cramped, it's not at all comfortable and this could be something that's improved on, however, if I'm seated in the passenger seat at the rear, I'm a whole lot more comfortable.
05:37I have pretty good under-thigh support, my knees aren't touching the seat in front of me, I get small seat pockets here, like seen in most of the Kodas and though this being a sub-4-metre SUV, I'm still pretty comfortable inside.
05:50Now, we get a centre armrest at the rear also with two cup holders right here. Now, we get two AC vents right here and we get two type-C charging sockets.
06:03So, again, small storage options on the hand, on the door frame and that's about it. Again, the under-thigh support is very good, seats are extremely comfortable and the headrest also adds the whole comfort element of this.
06:18So, as I was saying about the boot space, now this is the boot space as standard that we get, 470-odd litres of boot space and with the rear seats down, that extends up to 1,200-odd litres.
