00:00So, hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Prameet and today what we are driving, this
00:08is the Toyota Rumion.
00:10Now, essentially, this is the rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and in this video,
00:15I'll be telling you a little bit about this car and also about what is the difference
00:20between the Rumion and the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, so let's quickly start this video.
00:25So, first things first, let's talk about the exterior changes of the car, now, as you will
00:31see the Toyota Rumion from a distance, obviously, it looks absolutely identical, however, there
00:36are some changes, at the front, you get a similar looking headlamp unit, well, however,
00:42the grille has now been changed, there is a lot more chrome added to the Rumion and
00:46also the front bumper has been tweaked a little bit, so these are the changes at the front
00:51If you move to the side of the vehicle, again, you will notice that this gets a different
00:55set of alloy wheels, however, the size remains the same, they are 15-inch alloy wheels, but
00:59if you see the design of the alloy wheels, personally, I really like the design of the
01:03alloy wheel because of the small elements that they have put, but it is a good looking
01:08alloy wheel, however, a size bigger could have been slightly better, but however, they
01:12are a good set of alloy wheels, plus you get 185mm of ground clearance, that again remains
01:18the same, side profile of the car remains the same, you get chrome on the door handles,
01:22however, you get two request sensor for keyless entry, that is for the driver as well as the
01:28co-passenger, so you get it on both sides, you don't get a shark fin antenna, you get
01:32a small antenna on top, however, if you move to the back of the vehicle is, again, you
01:37will notice that there are no design changes as far as like the taillights go, they are
01:42the same, the L-shaped taillights, however, you get a Rumion badge, you get a Neo Drive
01:46badge, this is the V variant, so you get a V badge and you also get a Rumion badge
01:51on the boot, if we talk about the boot, so this is basically a seven-seater, so it has
01:56three rows, so with the third row up, you will get around 209 litres of boot space,
02:02which is actually not bad, you can keep two suitcases or one suitcase and a couple of
02:07other things, apart from that, if you fold the third row down, then you have plenty of
02:15space to keep a lot of things in the boot and that is, again, something which comes
02:21in really, really handy when you're travelling, if you're five people travelling and you need
02:25space, then you have that, if you're seven people going within the city, you have that,
02:29so yeah, the seating setup remains the same, however, these were the changes on the exterior,
02:34well, if we come on the insides, again, on the inside, almost everything is identical,
02:38except you have the Toyota badge on the steering wheel and also the key fob, let me just show
02:43you the key fob over here, so the key fob also remains the same, it has this kind of fob, but
02:49it gets this Toyota badging over here, so these are the two differences that I found on the inside
02:56of the Rumion, however, the seat setup, as I mentioned, it remains the same, seat upholstery
03:01remains the same, you get a same seven-inch infotainment system, it's a slightly small unit,
03:07but it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the cluster, again, remains the same, it has two
03:13analogue dials, one for your speed and one for your tachometer, and right in centre, you have
03:18the MIT screen that displays a lot of information, steering wheel is nice to hold, again, it's the
03:24same wheel and you have some wooden accents over here on the steering wheel and on the dashboard,
03:30plus, this also gets a rear AC for the rear occupants, and actually, being a big car,
03:37you really find that the AC is helpful because, obviously, there is a lot of space to hold on,
03:44and especially during extremely hot summers, this thing actually comes really handy. So,
03:50as far as the engine is concerned, this gets only one engine, that's a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated
03:55engine, and you get it either with an automatic or a manual gearbox, now, today what we are driving
04:00is a manual version, so yeah, the manual version is nice, again, there are no changes mechanically,
04:05the suspension remains the same, it is pretty good for a seven-seater, I would not say there
04:10is a lot of body roll, there is body roll, but it is very well contained, the third-row passenger
04:16might feel a little body roll, but the front two rows, if you sit in the front two rows,
04:22I don't think you will have issues as far as body roll is concerned, like a major body roll
04:26is concerned, but overall, it's good, steering feedback is nice, if you talk about the mileage
04:32in city, 14 to 15, maybe 16, if you have a light foot, and on the highway, since you have cruise
04:37control, if you put on cruise control, then maybe around 80 to 20 is what you can achieve,
04:42with the full load, obviously, the mileage will come down a little bit, but, I mean, it is a good
04:48MPV. As far as pricing is concerned, now, the pricing of the Rumion starts at 10.5 lakh and
04:55goes up to the 13.8 lakh mark, and this one that we are driving is the top of the line, so, yeah,
05:04so, around ex-showroom price is 13.8, on-road, maybe 14.5, 15, you get a seven-seater with
05:12a lot of things, you have four airbags, as far as safety is concerned, internationally, this model
05:17has three star ratings, and it is a pretty decent looking MPV, I must say, with a lot of space
05:23inside it, so, yeah, majorly, these are the differences between the Ertiga and the Rumion,
05:28and I hope you liked this video, if you liked it, please give it a thumbs up, share and subscribe
