00:00Project Agapay was launched in a barangay in Calbayog City where the victims of the Christine earthquake are far away.
00:08This is Suzette Pretensio of Radyo Pilipinas for Balitang Pambansa.
00:13Despite the challenges in the recovery after the Christine earthquake in Barangay Ginbaoyan Norte in the city of Calbayog,
00:23a new hope was born through the launch of Project Agapay,
00:29which provided the project with important school supplies such as notebooks, paper, and pencils to 120 students of Ginbaoyan Norte Elementary School.
00:41Through these supplies, Project Agapay is helping students to continue their studies despite the challenges.
00:53The project was led by the organization of the City of Calbayog at the University of the Philippines or URC-COOP,
01:00along with the Rotorok Club of Ibatan-Calbayog, Calbayog PNP, Northwest Summer State University, and 803rd Radio Reserve Infantry Battalion or RRIBN.
01:12According to 803rd First Sergeant Ryan Emil Zusa IV,
01:17they found it better to give help to the students because many were already given relief packs to the victims of the earthquake.
01:26As for relief, it's okay. We just saw that maybe it would be better to give assistance to the children, considering that the water is running out.
01:38Emanuel Josh Besso, President of URC-COOP, gave a statement that the main purpose of the project is to provide assistance in times of calamity,
01:49and as a student and organization, they are doing what they can to provide assistance.
01:56As a student and as an organization, we are here not only to give donations, but also to do what we can to help the community.
02:14Despite the collapse, the Agapay Project is a proof that through assistance, new hope for a better future is emerging.
02:27From Radio Pilipinas, Calbayog, Suzette Pretensio, for Balitang Pambansa.
