Trump 2.0: How will his second term be different from his first?
Transcript
00:00So Trump's coming back to the White House after the first term that is fair to say was pretty chaotic
00:07and featured a revolving cast of characters in his administration. The big question then is
00:13what has he learned from that as he tries to execute on his goals for the economy, for trade,
00:20for national security, for a whole host of questions as he seeks to respond to. The question
00:26of discipline really is key to that. Is he going to be more focused this time? Is he going to think
00:34more clearly through his policy goals and how to execute them? There were often times in the first
00:38term where it almost felt like winning power was what counted and once he had that power he didn't
00:45really seem sure what to do with it and you saw all sorts of dysfunction in the administration.
00:51Again this time the focus has really very much been on the obsessive desire to win back power
00:59but we do also have some outlines of what he wants to do now that he's got that power back.
01:07So one key question we're looking at in the wake of the election is who's he going to appoint?
01:13The key people around him will determine his successful failure for his second term and that
01:18starts really with one key role which is that of Chief of Staff. So we'll have to see from that and
01:25then cascading down from that there are all sorts of other key appointments, Treasury Secretary,
01:30Secretary of State, Charger for Policy and so on down and those people will be absolutely vital
01:37to ensuring that Trump gets his way.
