00:00Pete Prisco did his midseason NFL All-Pro team.
00:04Now, I know you've seen this.
00:08Yes. Then you've read it, is I guess my question, or did you just send the link?
00:12No, I looked at it. Okay, gotcha. So, I want everybody in their own
00:16mind to think about who would be, now All-Pro is not like Pro Bowler.
00:20This is the best in the league at the position.
00:24So, it's not like there's a bunch of running backs.
00:28There is a running back. It's not like there's a bunch of quarterbacks.
00:32There is a quarterback. Make sense? Everybody got it?
00:36So, when you think about who would be on the NFL All-Pro
00:40team from the Detroit Lions. Now, others, like the runner-ups,
00:44they do, it's put together by Pete Prisco, CBS Sports. There are runner-ups here.
00:48Okay, so, again, I know that people care about this.
00:52So, I'm gonna work my way through it here a little bit. A quarterback.
00:56Ask yourself, do you think Jared Goff should be first team
01:00All-Pro quarterback?
01:04And the answer is, he's not.
01:08Pete Prisco goes, Lamar Jackson, and he says it was an easy choice.
01:12Because it is an easy choice. Goff was a runner-up
01:16along with Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, and Jaden Daniels.
01:20Running back, do you think that Montgomery
01:24or Gibbs should be first team All-Pro running back?
01:28Probably not. Not first team. No.
01:32And I would think, of the two, Gibbs probably would deserve more
01:36because he's got 200 more rushing yards.
01:40Derrick Henry is named the first team All-Pro running back.
01:44Runner-up, just one, Saquon Barkley. Wide receiver,
01:48do you think Aminra St. Brown deserves to be, and they have
01:52three of them on this team, so this is where there is
01:56more than one. Three wide receivers on Pete Prisco's midseason All-Pro team.
02:00Do you think Aminra St. Brown deserves to be
02:04on the midseason All-Pro team at wide receiver? I do not.
02:08I think he's a great receiver. I think he's one of the best receivers in the game. However, the way
02:12that the first half of the season has gone, statistically, he would not fit into that category.
02:16Even though he's incredibly important to this team.
02:20The three receivers named to the midseason All-Pro team are
02:24Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, and Terry McLaurin
02:28for the Commanders. And he writes, the top two
02:32were easy, Chase and Jefferson, former college teammates leading the group. The third choice was a tough one.
02:36I want McLaurin, who finally has a quarterback, and he's putting up impressive numbers.
02:40Do you think Aminra gets in the runner-up category?
02:44Well, I know. I'm asking, I guess, the audience to
02:48answer the question themselves. There are one, two, three, four, five
02:52five receivers in the runner-up category. And the answer is
02:56no. Aminra does not get in the runner-up category.
03:00He hasn't had that season he had last year, where he was catching the ball
03:04eight times a game, or he was targeted 10 to 12 times a game, and
03:08ripping off 100 yards a game as well. He just, he's been
03:12great. He's been reliable. They've completed 30 straight passes to him.
03:1630 targets, 30 catches. He's been amazing. However,
03:20it's not the volume that the other receivers in the league have had, so they're going to get more notice.
03:24The other receivers are CeeDee Lamb, Brian Thomas Jr.,
03:28Garrett Wilson, Drake London, and Chris Godwin.
03:32I wouldn't be surprised if Aminra cracks this by the end of the year.
03:36But he does not make it in midseason. Tight end, Sam Laporta.
03:40I don't think anybody would argue Laporta would be it. George Kittle's name, first team
03:44all-pro tight end. Brock Bowers and Travis Kelsey, runner-up.
03:48Now, Kelsey just had his season the other night. Yeah, right.
03:52Left tackle. We're not going to do this for everyone. Slow it way down.
03:56Because this one's rather obvious. It would not be Decker. It's Trent Williams,
04:00left guard, Quinton Nelson. The center position, do you think
04:04Frank Ragnow makes first team all-pro center? I've said I think
04:08he's one of the top three centers in the league. Arguably the best center in the league, so you'd hope he's
04:12getting some kind of recognition. Creed Humphreys name, the first teamer, and runner-up.
04:16Ragnow gets a mention there, along with Tyler Linderbaum and Aaron Brewer.
04:20Right guard, no point in bringing that up. Right tackle, do you think
04:24Pene Sewell, I'm asking the people, do you think Pene Sewell deserves to be
04:28first team all-pro right tackle?
04:32The answer is, he does. He gets named first team all-pro.
04:36Defensively, what did they say about Lane Johnson with that?
04:40He's taken the throne of best right tackle in the game
04:44from Lane Johnson to the Eagles, but it's still close. Sewell is big, athletic
04:48and can move. He can also show off his power in the run game.
04:52Defensively, Aidan Hutchinson makes edge rusher, obviously.
04:56Despite the fact he didn't even play half the season,
05:00and he's one of the edge rushers, I think speaks volumes to how good he was.
05:04And TJ Watt also there. Defensive tackle, do you think
05:08the McNeil people deserve first team defensive tackle love?
05:12He does not get it. Dexter Lawrence and Chris Jones
05:16make it runner-up. Ali McNeil, he does get in the runner-up category along with
05:20Cam Hayward and Jalen Carter. I think that's pretty good progress right there.
05:24Linebacker, do you think Jack Campbell makes first team all-pro?
05:28You think he does?
05:32Well, you don't look pained in the seating position, so I'm guessing he's not.
05:36List needs to go.
05:40That's really unfortunate. He does not. Fred Warner and
05:44Bobby Wagner do. Runner-up, no Jack Campbell either.
05:48Corner, no Lions corner. Safety, do you think
05:52Brian Branch or Kirby Joseph get some love? And the answer to that is
05:56yes, they both get some love. Pete Prisco's midseason all-pro team.
06:00Xavier McKinney and Brian Branch are your first team all-pro guys. Runner-up,
06:04Kirby Joseph, Brandon Jones, and Jesse Bates. And finally,
06:08I will tell you that Jack Fox gets the punter spot. So
06:12plenty of Detroit Lion love. So hopefully that makes
06:16people feel better. Hopefully that makes people feel good.
06:20Well, it's not going to make them feel worse. Nope. Nope. It's nice to get the recognition halfway through
06:24the season. It's only halfway through the season. I don't know if you need to do that, but hey, people like to
06:28read the stuff that happens. Content, content, content, baby. Here are the awards.
06:32Yang, do you take any umbrage or are you pretty cool with all this?
06:36Yeah, I mean this is kind of like the college football rankings
06:40at this point. It will clear out at the end of the year.
06:44I think awards are always appreciated, but in the end it doesn't matter.
06:48It's the team sport. Winning the championship is the biggest thing.
06:52But it's cool. Always cool to be recognized, I think.
06:56But it's not the end of it. There's plenty of Lions love.
07:00I guess the one thing I would ask and wonder is by the end of this year,
07:04who could crack into a runner-up spot?
07:08Could Gibbs or Montgomery get a little bit more love at
07:12running back? It really feels like that's going to be hard to do because A, there's two of them,
07:16and B, the running back position is back, baby. It is back.
07:20Well, here's the thing. We talk about stuff like this.
07:24Everybody remembers what you do down the stretch. Nobody remembers what you did in the first half.
07:28So can players get there? Sure. I think Jameer Gibbs,
07:32if he continues what he's doing, will absolutely get some consideration.
07:36You look at Sam Laporta. They've hardly used
07:40Sam Laporta to this point, but if they start using him like they did last year, sure, he's there.
07:44St. Brown, if he gets used like he was last year, boom, he can be on that list.
07:48Can one of the corners get there?
07:52Keep going. If Jack Campbell continues to rack up
07:5613-14 tackles a game, he will be.
