00:00Oh my goodness, this year we are celebrating the 45th Masquerade Festival in Bacolod City.
00:06Thousands of people are coming to this festival and I didn't miss the chance to celebrate in the City of Smiles.
00:13Let's watch this.
00:16One of the most colorful,
00:20the most lively,
00:25and the happiest celebration in the Philippines,
00:30is the Masquerade Festival.
00:32We are here in Bacolod City, the City of Smiles, to celebrate the Masquerade Festival and to see how happy the people here in Bacolod are.
00:44This is held every October in Bacolod City, known as the City of Smiles.
00:50This is where the bright masquerades symbolize the hope of the people of Bacolod.
00:56Local and international tourists are not missing out on the joy of being on the streets of Bacolod.
01:06This is the electric masquerade parade, one of the most anticipated attractions here in Bacolod,
01:14which is held every year in the Masquerade Festival.
01:18You can see how loud and vigorous each parade of each barangay here in Bacolod City is.
01:24We can see the colors and smiles of the people of Bacolod.
01:28This is where the people of Bacolod show off their creativity because of the different concepts they came up with.
01:36And through their bright floats, they give light not only to the streets, but also to the faces of their fans.
01:46The float behind me is the defending champion last year for the electric masquerade parade here in Bacolod City.
01:53You can see how beautiful it is and how much effort they put into it.
01:59It's so beautiful, it's so bright, it's so vibrant, and it's so cool.
02:06Just a little trivia, did you know that the Masquerade Festival started because of a crisis?
02:13And what is it? It's because of the price of sugar.
02:17That's the main product here in Bacolod City.
02:20And to uplift the spirit of the people of Bacolod, they organized this Masquerade Festival
02:25so that they can forget about the problems they are facing.
02:28It's great, right? It shows how great, resilient, and happy the people of Bacolod are.
02:37Because I'm more into outfits, of course, I like to see people being confident wearing their own aesthetics.
02:43So, yeah, that makes Bacolod way more colorful and that makes the festival more lively.
02:50Aside from the electric float parade, another thing to look forward to here is the music fest brought by various bands.
03:00And soldiers, my masquerade adventure here in Bacolod City is coming to an end.
03:04And if I were you, where would you look for this kind of adventure?
03:08Of course, in the basement.
03:09This is where your morning show ends.
03:11Where you were the first to hear it!
